Not a very large aquarium, but still had fun with the kids. Once is enough, though.

We purchased this for our children as a Christmas present, and they each brought a friend.On- line it says that it is an 1.5-2 hr experience. However, we checked in at 10:50am and left about 3:30pm.

We arrived early, signed in, and waited around checking out the aquarium. I was impressed with the exhibits but found the overall aquarium much smaller than I was expecting.

The guide told the kids about the dive and explained that 2 divers go at a time. Well, if they take about 10 people, each session of 30 min, ...you can see you need to wait. Since we had already seen the exhibit before the dive, we had nothing to do but wait around and grab lunch.

THe lunch (burgers, moz. sticks, chick fingers) took 40 minutes and only after much prodding did it arrive. The young girls at the cashier did not seem to know which end was up! Once the food did arrive, it appeared one item every 5 minutes.

The kids suited up in wet suits and did the dive. I must say they loved it! It was cool that we could hear them talking to each other during the dive, while we were watching from the windows. The kids had a ball, and learned alot. They did said they got a bit cold near the end. They were happy to receive their special shark towel, picture, and shark tooth, included in the price The overall "guide" was great as well as the dive master.

Bring your underwater camera if you have one.

NOTE: All of our kids wear glasses, and they were not allowed to wear them on the dive. This was disappointing , so if possible, wear contacts if you have them!!!! Wish someone would've told us that!!!

Also, note, it does fill up fast, so book way in advance!

Finally if you fill in the liability waiver on line and bring it, and say "yes" to ANY ailments you will need a doctors note saying you can do the dive.

First of all, I want to state how great the customer service that we received was. We were scheduled to shark dive at 11am but unfortunately due to car problems, we arrived 40 minutes after. We live an hour away and were scared that we would have to reschedule. To our surprise everyone who worked at the aquarium were extremely understanding and allowed us to still do our shark dive! They gave us absolutely no problems and were so nice to us, I can't even put into words how great everyone was.

We were escorted upstairs where we were given a brief explanation of safety procedures and were guided to the restroom to change into our bathing suit and wetsuits. The entire experience was absolutely wondering and we received pictures of our dive that were included in the package (along with a genuine shark tooth and towel).

After the shark dive, we were able to explore the aquarium in which we enjoyed all the exhibitions. My favorite part was being able to find the stingrays and touch them. My boyfriend and I had an absolutely great time and would love to visit again. We recommend the aquarium to anyone and most certaintly recommend doing the shark dive.

I've been to the big city aquariums and have snorkeled the reefs of Tahiti -- I still think this is a great aquarium. The exhibits are beautiful and fascinating, and the staff is informative. The indoor and outdoor interactive exhibits draw the young and old alike -- touch a manta ray and sand shark, roll-up your pants and wade in a shallow salt marsh to pick up spider and horseshoe crabs. Penquins, seals, sea lions, reef and fresh water fish -- they nearly have it all! If you're interested in marine biology take the Atlantis Boat excursion with a naturalist that cruises the Peconic River and stops at a little island where you get out and explore the marine and marsh life. It's a wonderful way to spend the day.
