“"Under New Management"---and Still Terrible”
Reviewed September 5, 2013

This golf course has always been----and painfully, remains---the combination of the best potential and the worst reality in American golf. The course was just sold to a NYC real estate developer, and the people who are in charge at the course now are less rude but just as clueless as the old, snotty bunch who used to be here. Its an interesting layout and has good bones, but in addition to the mopes in the clubhouse, play is always slow and the type of people it seems to attract don't fix their divots or repair their ballmarks. It could be so great....

The new owners are taking it private, and let's guess....will the fees be reasonable?

“Terrible management”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

I tried to golf at this course a couple months ago and had the worst experience. We drove over an hour to this course after scheduling a tee time in the morning. We had a discount voucher that let us golf at the course for a much cheaper rate than normally priced. Once we got to the course, we were told that our foursome is not valid because they do not accept discount vouchers in their morning time slots. Mind you, we spoke to a representative at the course the week prior to book our tee time and he said it was fine. There was barely anyone on the course at the time and we were still told to pack up our bags and head home, even after explaining to them the drive was over an hour.

We will not be playing this course in the near future, and due to our negative experience, we suggest that no one else pay for playing at this poorly run course. Terrible management from the top to the bottom.

“Very Challenging Course”
Reviewed July 20, 2013

This course is definitely not for beginners. There is so much tall grass on the course that if you do not keep the ball on the fairway you are dead! I kind of felt like I was playing at the beach. There are a lot of sand traps. Just another bit of information for anyone who has bought a voucher on any of the websites such as Groupon or Amazon to play at this course that as of 7/17/2013 it is under new ownership and the vouchers are not being honored.

“Such a challenge!”
Reviewed June 22, 2013

I'm nowhere near a great golfer but I can hold my own on less challenging courses like Indian Island, Calverton Links etc but this course is craggy and difficult and frustrating and wonderful!! In my experience the staff wasn't exactly friendly but who cares? Just get me to the first tee and all that disappears. Can't wait to go back!

“Outstanding Links Experience”
Reviewed May 17, 2013

If you love links golf, you'll love this course. The east end of LI is sorely lacking in high quality public golf, but this course is brilliantly designed, has always been in good shape, and has a friendly staff to boot. Highly recommended.
