We stopped for a bite on our drive home to CT on the recommendation of a local LI couple we met at a winery. They had thoroughly enjoyed their meal at Joe's and we have to agree. The meal was fabulous and fun! The atmosphere is upbeat and fun. A sort of Industrial Clean. Happy, enthusiastic waitstaff...things seemed to run very smoothly for a restaurant that had just opened. But the tell is in the food and our meals were amazing. My dining partner had a tasty side if grits which for a tiny price was an impressive portion. Topped with cheese, bacon and crispy fried onion shreds, it would have made a southerner proud! We had a burger, standard fare, but done to perfection. Also had the brisket sandwich, again, all I can say is perfection. The meat was thickly sliced but just melted in your mouth. And I have to rave about the fries! Don't know how they were made - they were thickish slices of a whole potato - seasoned and crisped to, yup, you guessed it, perfection. Looking forward to coming back next time we're in town.
The prices are excellent and portion size is just right. It's a great place for every one from families with kids, to meet ups with a group of friends, to couples. You can go for a quick bite or to linger over drinks or conversations at the bar. And speaking of the bar...It has some unique offerings like moonshine and frozen concoctions. Should be great when the garage doors open up in the warmer weather to the (heated) patio!

This brand new bar and grill began a soft opening 4 days ago. It is located near the scenic Peconic River in a newly constructed building. It has the appearance of a sports bar with a garage motive. There are 4 large overhead doors which will be open in the summer providing access to patio service. The menu has the standard pub items - wing, potato skins, chilly, salads, burgers, BBQ, and ribs and also features down home items like meat loaf, turkey pot pie , short ribs, and grilled chicken breast. They also feature Mac and Cheese and a 5 Cheese blend toasted cheese sandwich with tomato soup. All dishes are made with fresh upscale ingredients. The fries are fresh cut but are sliced across the postage making round disks that are deep fried and delicious. The choice of cheese for the burger are extensive and the amount of bacon was generous. The bun was excellent as was the burger and fries. The grilled chicken breast came with avocado, portobello and special sauce and was good but slightly dry. Service was excellent. You could not tell that they had only been open for 4 days. Joe's will be an excellent addition to the Riverhead Riverfront area.
