My family and I were on a car trip to the East End of L.I. for a long weekend in May, and decided to stop in Riverhead at the Hotel Indigo for lunch at their Bistro72 (off L.I.E. Exit 72). We rarely eat at hotel restaurants because they typically are not a good value, and tend to be predominantly cookie-cutter.
We were very pleasantly surprised at the high quality of the unique "farm-to-table" menu at Bistro72. While the prices are not low, we all agreed that the restaurant is a good value, because the menu is so well-conceived, the food is so locally fresh and well-prepared, and the ambiance is so nice. The four of us highly recommend this unusually excellent hotel restaurant, and I'm looking for an excuse to come back, this time for dinner.More
