“Do not eat the food!!!”
Reviewed July 19, 2014

Food was cold, not as told by the waitress. Ordered the special of the day pan seared scallops, 5 scallops for $23.99, cold, not done, risotto was terrible. We ate inside, flies on our food. They also serve sulfur water, ICK ! Service was also not good. I remember in the '70's what a fabulousness place this was!!!! Now it's a dump!

Thanks for your comments and observations. They are appreciated. It is a great old building and we do like a mix of things and enjoy collecting lots of things. It is nice to own a big building and to be able to enjoy them. We appreciate your business. Thanks!

Wait staff non-existent. Alcoholic drink had no alcohol. Filet mignon - hair in the mashed potatoes.

Perhaps your first stay in a building that was build as an inn in the 1840's? We do appreciate your business and hope you will stay again. We do have great food and unlike a chain hotel, all of our rooms are different- next time let's find a room you really like. Thanks again.

“Beautiful view & lunch too!”
Reviewed July 14, 2014 via mobile

Stopped for lunch and sat outside on the porch. Great view. Wife had a cheeseburger and I had the bleu cheese burger. Both done as ordered. Loved the fries that came with it. Nice glass of house wine. Waitress was very friendly and attentive. Look forward to going back to try the dinner menu.

“If Ron Weasley's family ran a hotel....”

This was the oddest place I've ever stayed. Liked it, but not for everyone. Clean, but entropic! The entire place-including the restaurant was chaos! Staff was not very friendly, food mediocre, but the place itself was so interesting-it was insane!!!

“A Lovely Evening”
Reviewed July 5, 2014

We had a really lovely time at the Lake House this evening. We haven't gone there for years, but decide to give it a try with Chef Michael Gregory now running the kitchen. We were not disappointed. It's definitely a quirky place, but it was clean and the staff was incredibly warm and friendly. Most importantly we had really good meals. The swordfish was perfectly cooked, the ribs were yummy, and the house wine was quite good. The bread was also really good and my family ate two baskets. My husband, who has to be so careful with his diet was thrilled to find that he could order a baked sweet potato with his dinner. There was a concert going on outside and the band sounded great. We wished we were able to stay for the event. Chef Gregory has really begun a transformation here and we will certainly be back. The dining room is a tad old fashioned, but for us that just added to the charm and funky nature of the place. It was a lot of fun.

We are honored by the review you posted about your experience with us. While we are constantly told face to face how much customers enjoy our service, it takes a very special person to proclaim to the online world that they should check us out. You are one of those individuals and we are proud that you do business with us, Christine Corrigan, owner.
