Friends from the Boston area discovered The Lake House during an online search, and I was amazed to find that the place was so close to us (about 25 minutes). The buildings and decor are very country rustic, and view from the dining area overlooking the lake is lovely. The real surprise came with our meals -- we've returned to the restaurant four or five times. Each time, our server was very knowledgeable and accommodating (one server remembered us--and our order-- from our first visit, and made suggestions accordingly), and the food was excellent. I had a duck dish on wild rice that was superbly prepared, and duck can be very tricky. During our last visit, my rib-eye was as fork tender as the best fillet, and the chef had just prepared a honey-dew melon sorbet that was unbelievable! Our friends are visiting again in a couple of weeks, and I can't wait to spend another evening at the Lake House.
