This was our second time dining at The Lakehouse. Last summer we stopped in between the lunch and dinnner seating, sat outside and were looking at family pictures on the laptop so it may have appeared to the waitstaff that the 4 of us were in no rush to eat.
One of us ordered from the dinner menu, the rest ordered from the lunch menu .It was a very long wait and the rolls that came with the dinner order were long gone before the entrees arrived. I really wanted to try the bulgur salad and it was forgotten on the order.
We didn't notice how slow the service was because we weren't focusing on a time schedule.
So this year we made plans to stop in during the dinner hour. Obviously some things never change.
The wait was excruciatingly long from the time to be served our water and wine to the meal. It got dark and chilly at the outdoor seating area.
We brought the wait to the attention of the waitstaff and they said they were short handed and it was the busiest it had been all summer.
If they meant busy with 3 tables outdoors and 4 tables indoors with the rest of the place empty then we wondered what a slow night was like.
I mentioned that the management should be aware that this was the tourist season and it didn't make a great impression to be waiting for over an hour to have the appetizer and salads served. I also said that I leave comments with Trip Advisor and even though this didn't speed up the entrees the management came out and asked if one of us needed a sweater and we were welcome to move inside.
Since we had finally been served our entrees we continued dining where we were.
The waitstaff returned to ask how the meals were and offered a complimentary dessert and coffee for everyone to make up for the long wait.
We moved indoors and enjoyed the cheesecake, carrot cake and ice cream cream puff.
Since management made the effort to be hospitable and the food was rather good the end of the evening ended on a positive note. It was a 3 hour meal and we still had some traveling to do that night.
