We had probably the best chinese food and we have ample selections to choose from in NYC. China Rose did not disappoint and we were super pleased to meet the owners of the spot.

Sad to write this review as China Rose has been a favorite in my "rotation" for many years, but my recent experiences have me taking it off the list. The food has become rather ordinary and bland and the service terrifically slow. For Chinese style food, it's too expensive for the quality of food..................do takeout if you want this level. The Service, while a friendly wait staff, is slow and it takes forever even for appetizers. Rhinebeck offers too many other decent choices so I'll not be back

I spent an evening with travel colleagues and new friends we had made. The food was fabulously fresh. Even the spring roll was chock full of really fresh vegetables. The crispy fried eggplant was quite amazing. Really crisp on the outside but smooth and creamy inside. The flovour was also excellent.

We are traveling along the Hudson River to see the fall foliage. We stayed at the Rhinecliff bed an breakfast, but their restaurant was not open this late in the season for dinner. They pointed us the the China Rose. This is a bar restaurant. We stopped in early, just to check the place out before we unpacked and went on a walk along the railroad tracks. The place was full and noisy. We came back later, and we were the only customers. The food is not your traditional Chinese, which was great for us, as we look for different and exciting events. Everything was delicious, and being the only customers, we got excellent service. Since the town of Rhinecliff is really off the beaten track, I don't know where their customers come from, unless it is from the commuters on the train. For a different Chinese restaurant experience, try the China Rose.
