WhistleWood Farm Bed and Breakfast

My boyfriend, his parents, and I spent a weekend at the Whistlewood (wyoming room & morningside room). The property itself is gorgeous with horse stable & friendly horses, several friendly cats, and two well behaved dogs. It's located in a very rural area just outside Rhinebeck.

Maggie the innkeeper was very welcoming, explained lots of details, gave good advice, and did a phenomenal job with the breakfasts and dessert table. Eggs made-to-order, bacon or sausage, pancakes or french toast, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, fresh muffins, her sister,s stollen, homemade jams, cobblers, cookies pies.... need I say more!

My boyfriends parents do not travel much and have only stayed in a B&B one other time. They were in the lovely wyoming room in the main house and just loved the comfort of the house and the proximity to the treat table. The view out of their sliding doors overlooked the horse fields, flowers, and beautiful woods

We were in a separate house down the lane from the main house and across from the stable that contained 3 rooms and a little kitchenette. There was fresh coffee in this house in the morning to get you through until you made it up to the main house.

The rooms and inn are spotless and in very good condition. Bathrooms seem to be new (modern, clean, no mold). Our room and the parents room had gas fireplaces that put out a nice amount of heat and glow for the chilly nights.

All of us would come back and stay here in a heartbeat!!

Great dinner at Gigi's and Arielle's.

My husband and I just returned from a restful, re-energizing weekend at the Whistlewood. My husband is a fan of luxury hotels with indoor pools and Jacuzzi tubs. I, on the other hand, was more in need of a quiet, romantic weekend away without the kids and since I was making the plans I chose the Whistlewood. Neither of us was disappointed. The property at the Whistlewood is beautifully maintained, private and serene. The hostess/owner, Maggie, is lovely and has a wonderful sense of humor, which made it a pleasure to be in her company. We stayed in the Juniper room, which was tastefully decorated and felt like "home" as soon as we stepped in. Actually, the whole house felt like "home" immediately. It is warm and inviting from the get go.....not stuffy and formal like many other B&B's. The only thing that could have made the weekend better was an extra night! A lovely weekend in a beautiful setting with an accommodating, gracious hostess...what more could we ask for? Oh yes, and Grandma was watching the kids....PERFECT! We'll be back!

great place for girls' getaway. Cottage on property has 2 bedrooms and pullout sofa. Atmosphere is charming. Breakfast is great. Good place to relax or enjoy the sights in and around Rhinebeck and the Hudson Valley. Highly recommended.

Don't miss the chance to spend some time at Maggie's lovely house and horse farm in Rhinebeck. She's a charming hostess and my wife and I enjoyed her company, pancakes (ask for the recipe) and accommodations on a recent and all too brief stay.

The carriage house is nicely appointed and more private than the very cosy and welcoming main house. Two dogs, Lulu and Jake are real friendly as are the horses and resident donkey.

We spent a fantastic weekend at the Whistlewood Farm B & B. Our dog had the time of his life, running around and playing with the resident dog, Jake. We stayed in the carriage house, which is not only tastefully decorated, but works out great for dogs.
The breakfasts were exceptional. Fresh food, purchased locally, and cooked to perfection. After you eat their hearty breakfast, you really don't need much for lunch.
The grounds are beautiful and very relaxing. Especially enjoyable is walking into the stable and being around the horses (being a horse lover, this was a special treat). In the late afternoon, it's nice to sit around the picnic table and just take it in.
We will definitely return.

I'm not a big B&B fan, but this place is great. Very warm & welcoming without being cutesy. I stayed mid-week in the off-season & got a very good rate. As an animal lover, I enjoyed meeting the friendly dogs, cat, horses & donkey. Barbara & Maggie are interesting & attentive. Breakfast, though not "gourmet," is good & filling. Plus, there's a large selection of baked goods, coffee, & tea always available. Maggie does add an optional service charge to the bill but, considering the service, cleanliness, etc., I thought it should have been even higher. Looking forward to a return visit.

We stayed over Valentine's Day/President's Day Weekend and had a lovely time. The B&B was located on a horse farm and the Morningside Suite was spectacular. The only downfall was that it rained all weekend. But we enjoyed reading and relaxing. Highly recommended, but your best bet is to go when the weather is warmer so you can enjoy roaming around Rhinebeck.
