“WON'T STAY THERE AGAIN!!!”
Reviewed March 13, 2013

Our overnight stay at the Delamater Inn was truly disappointing. We entered our building after dark. We had three keys. Unfortunately, the light was out on the porch and we had a difficult time finding the right key. There was not enough hot water for me to take a bath. In the morning, after 6 inches of snow, No one had shoveled our path out of the building. They plowed the road but not the 6 inches we had to walk thru to get to the parking area.
On checkout, the girl asked why we didn't call for assistance. We were traveling and in a rush so I just put up with the inconvenience. She gave us a $17.00 credit.
Won't stay there again.

Room Tip: Stay in the old section of the Beekman Arms.

I stayed for one night this past weekend--very charming and a relaxing stay--the food was decent and the rooms were adorable with working fireplaces and an urn of sherry--the service was perfect--I would recommend it to anyone--

I had such warm memories of this inn from a visit I made many years ago. The rooms were cozy, the staff felt like family, and the Sunday brunch was incomparable. During the a la carte "brunch" on this visit, I learned that the inn had changed owners about ten years ago. The restaurant was empty, the rooms were average, and the staff were uninformed about basic amenities. The radiators were in dire need of attention. A visit in February was an uncomfortable experience.

We stopped in to avoid driving in a snow storm that never happened. We looked at two rooms on the Delamater property and they seemed so so. No charm but did appear to be clean, etc. We took a room in the main inn that we were warned would be noisy as it is directly over the main entry. The room was charming and had tons of character and warmth. Yes... there was some street and lobby noise but all was quiet early enough and noisy late enough in the morning. We had a wonderful stay. At least in winter, say on the main campus! We'll go back.

Room Tip: Stay on the main campus off season. In season, maybe the Delamater property might make sense.

The Beekman Arms is the only place to stay right in the heart of the lovely village of Rhinebeck. We've been staying here off and on for over 25 years, and it's always pleasant. Let me say off the bat, this isn't all shiny marble bathrooms and Frette sheets. It's a comfortable place to stay with great staff, in a great location. Our last stay was in a double room in Delamater, as we were visiting colleges with the kid and just in for an overnight. I was told the room was small, it was quite large. Bedroom decently furnished, bathroom dated but very clean. A nice touch is the shared parlor and kitchen in the house. Another nice touch is the sherry in the room. The main event is The Beekman Arms, a great old building with a roaring fire, good bar, and decent food. Not great, but decent. Plus side is that within a five minute walk are a handful of great restaurants if you don't want to dine in.

Room Tip: Be aware there are three different choices: The Revolutionary era Beekman Arms. i've never staye...

I came in late at night and stayed in the newer annex. The rooms are not perfect but are convenient to the train station, comfortable, large, reasonably priced and near town. It is easy to get a train from New York City to Rhinebeck, a taxi to the hotel from the train station at any time, and a bus directly to Bard that stops across the street.

The staff were terrific. I left some personal belongings in the train station on the way home, and called the hotel on the chance that they would help. Cynthia and Heather were incredibly kind and went out of their way to make sure that what I had left behind was picked up that afternoon and returned.

I will stay at this hotel whenever I visit.

Located in the beautiful Village of Rhinebeck NY, a beautiful building and setting, but covers up the mediocre food and less than comfortable rooms. Menu is limited and you can't get a baked potato. Asking for something not on the menu is a no no. Prices are ridiculous.
Never again....but, go down the road for some real food at the Matchbox about one mile south.
