You can feel a little history sitting in the booth; but the food was nothing to rave about the night we were there... we were told the regular chef was off duty. Food was sort of like a high end cafeteria... adequate but nothing special. Overly salty...had a processed feel to it... Did not seem to be "scratch kitchen."

Been going to Fosters for more years than I care to remember. Still its same old charm and service even tho the owner passed away a year or so ago. Good food, reasonable prices and now outdoor seating

We've been going to Foster's for a very long time. It is a tradition to eat there at least once a year (Rhinebeck being an outing for us as it's not near our home.) We enjoy the pub atmosphere, the decor of an old barn that is done so well and is timeless. The food is good (most of it), the menu extensive. The wait staff have always been helpful in making suggestions or substitutions/additions. A great place to take the family, and indeed, there are always several families there when we go. The prices are quite reasonable and the service good.

Having taken a day trip up to Rhinebeck, my husband and I ate at Foster's Coach House. The theme is equestrian since it supposedly was a coach house with tavern and rooms at some point. We ate outside and watched the cars and people go by. The service was friendly and efficient. I had a very good london broil sandwich that was very tender and hubby had fried clams which, while good, were not outstanding. The prices were what you would expect for a restaurant in that area, but overall, it was a pleasing meal and experience.

Located in the heart of the village - we got lucky and had an outside table on a nice evening. Food and service was good, prices were reasonable.
