After an excellent dinner here, this has become a destination restaurant for us...not to mention their delicious desserts. Reservations are a must, since seating is very limited. And what nicer town to walk thru than Rhinebeck.

Calico is truly a gem of a restaurant located in the heart of Rhinebeck. Walking into the restaurant one can sense a warm, intimate atmosphere. Patrons are greeted immediately in a most welcoming manner. The food selections are varied and plentiful especially for an establishment of this size. The meals, from crisp rolls to flavorful desserts, are absolutely delicious and presented in a most appealing way. Service is impeccable--especially if Tony C. is waiting on you--and unintrusive. Newcomers to Calico will be pleasantly surprised at the value they receive for the high quality of the food prepared by Tony B. Just try to leave room for the outstanding desserts prepared by Leslie. At the very least, be sure to take one or two 'samples' home with you. They are not to be missed.

Calico to go! Chef Tony works with us to create a menu that not only fits the theme of our gathering, but also will be easy for us to serve. From casual backyard BBQs, to an elegant anniversary dinner for my in-laws, to a Tuscan-themed dinner for our wedding vow renewal dinner party (complete with Leslie's beautifully made mini wedding cake!) Calico’s versatility is just fantastic. They hit it just right every time. Everything is always delicious, and it takes the stress and work out of having friends and family over - especially since having a baby. I am not sure what I would do without them!!

I Recently had a date at calico. There couldn't be a better place to take your date to. The small restaurant created an intimate atmosphere that made both of us comfortable. All of the food was excellent especially the gnocchi. The prices are very reasonable especially for such great tasting food. Calico definitly lives up to its name by having the best pastries around.

My husband and I visited Calico’s for lunch on Saturday, 9/15/2012 (served from 11 – 2). We were enjoying Rhinebeck for a few hours and wanted to try this restaurant after reading so many fantastic reviews. What a great find! I will now make sure to visit Calico’s if we are ever anywhere near this part of New York.

As nearly everyone mentions, the restaurant only has seven tables and large people might not find it easy to maneuver. Also, there are a few steps leading up to the restaurant so anyone who has problems with stairs might also have a challenge. However, we found the intimate atmosphere to be lovely. We also enjoyed viewing the work by local artists that was on display.

The service was great and the daily specials list was quite tempting. My husband had the chicken with red peppers, pesto sauce and cheese on foccacia while I had the pulled pork sandwich. The pork had a maple chipotle sauce that was very tasty. Also, a change from the normal sauce served on pulled pork in the south. The sandwiches came with a small side salad of very fresh greens – a lovely addition to our lunch. We also were given “hot out of the oven” rolls that were divine! All of the food was truly wonderful! The meal was very reasonable at less than $25 for the two of us.

We, regrettably, did not leave room for dessert. However, as we dined, many locals came in to pick up their ordered cakes and other pastries. A bride even stopped in to discuss her wedding cake.

The restaurant is in the middle of Rhinebeck and there was plenty of free street parking.
