If you are missing the city - then stop into this tiny little cafe and you will feel as if you are back in NYC, since the owners are natives and proud of it. The fried chicken was good - but not the best I have had. The baked goods were much better. Be prepared to hear the owner's stories of how good he thinks he is! It came close - but maybe with all the hype I expected more.

Matchbox is tiny, only about five tables inside plus some counter stools and 3 picnic tables outside, that is the only reason for not giving it five stars.
The food here is crazy good. Grass fed beef hamburgers done properly are the best around.
The fried chicken is also made from high quality birds is delicous and not at all greasy.
The sweets are all very good. Red Velvet cake, butterfinger brownies are stand-outs, best selection in Rhinebeck without a doubt.
The prices are more than fair for the quality of the food you will be served here.
Go and see for yourself...

Excellent food on numerous visits . Desserts are to die for (red velvet cake cake personal favorite). The corned beef sandwich is the best you will ever have. If you haven't been there, you are missing out on a small but mighty gem in rhinebeck!

This the sort of place you stumble upon and wonder why you never heard of it. I think the regulars want to keep it a secret. It is tiny and I do mean tiny. There are tables outside which on nice days are often full.

The food was delicious and the staff very friendly.

It is a bit outside of town but worth the extra drive.
