Could not have been better. Like many inns, The Olde Rhinebeck Inn has been lovingly preserved, but what makes it special is the incredible attention to detail the innkeeper Jonna has exerted. Every single piece, from carpet beaters to a tiny pair of children's leather gloves in our room seems hand-selected. We stayed in Plow and Hearth, which gave us a wonderful sense of the era (1738!!) as well as all modern conforts (streaming netflix!) Throw in Jonna's amazing breakfasts -- French pancake one morning, creamy museli another morning -- and you just can't do any better. The only drawback -- ONLY is that you have to drive into the village. But that's true of everything in this area. The lodging options in town just aren't that appealing. And this inn is well worth he small inconvenience. A must stay if you're in the area (btw, we used the inn as a base to see the whole Hudson Valley, and it was perfectly placed.)

Room Tip: They're all good rooms.

During a trip through the Hudson River Valley we spent one night here in August, having selected the inn based on Trip Advisor reviews. The inn is outside of town on a rural road, though not too far from one of the main local roads. The property is lovely with a pond in back. The immediate area is rural and very quiet. The inn itself was also very quiet, even though, from the look of the parking area, there were several other guests. Out room up a narrow set of steep stairs (the house is quite old) was large, very comfortable, and quite clean. The bathroom was modern and also clean. The owner was extremely gracious upon our arrival and helped with directions to nearby restaurants and with advice about local sights. We were up and out early in the morning so did not stay for breakfast and can't evaluate it. The Rhinebeck area is pretty, with lots to see, but that makes it quite touristy. The Olde Rhinebeck Inn allows you to get away from the tourists but still be close enough to enjoy all the area has to offer.

Between 1957 and the mid 1960’s my father owned the Stone Cottage on the old Tracy Dows Estate, and Rhinebeck was thus my home away from home. I thereafter lived with a sense of sadness and loss until last October when my wife and I stayed at the Olde Rhinebeck Inn. We recently returned to celebrate our Anniversary. With “our” bedroom and the delicious family style breakfasts, I once again feel as if I have a home in Rhinebeck.

My wife and I spent two delightful days and nights at this marvelous little treasure. Built in the 1700s, this 4-guest room house is intimate and cozy with decorations to match the period. We stayed in the Plow and Harrow room on the 2nd floor. Wide plank floors with spikes rather than nails were authentic. The bed was very comfortable. Although the house was old, it was in excellent repair and had modern amenities, such as a mini-refrigerator, a TV and a shower in our room. The other guests were 2 couples from the Los Angles area and a couple from Australia, which made for good conversation in the comfortable living room and at breakfast. Jonna, the innkeeper, made lovely breakfasts and then hung around to talk with us and answer any questions we had about the area, local reastaurants, attractions, etc.; she was charming and accomodating. The property included two ponds and several Adirondack chairs that guests could use to sit in while enjoying the larger pond. Rhinebeck has some fine restaurants with our new favorite being Arielle - try it. We had a comfortable, relaxing, enjoyable visit and would go back again without hesitation should we find ourselves in the Hudson Valley again. 5 thumbs up!

Jonna is the Innkeeper Extraordinaire....her subtle and supple care for her guests is pervaded our two-night stay....meticulous appointments to the beautifully renovated and restored colonial cottage; cozy, comfortable, bedrooms (4) and common areas; up-to-date electronics plus homemade cookies!; her gourmet breakfasts that beg hyperbole... and affable breakfast conversation...she is an encyclopedia of Hudson Valley history and lore...and ever mindful of enhancing her guests' experience. We chose the upstairs "Spirited Dove" room which was charming, comfortable, romantic and amended by a balcony overlooking the lovely, well-groomed grounds and pond. Deer and rabbits watched us watch them. 5 minutes from Rhinebeck village. A most exceptional experience and value.

My boyfriend and i decided to have a weekend outside NYC and we decided to go to Upstate NY. The place has so much history (make sure to ask Jonna about the house) and each room is cozy, well decorated, yet you still feel that rustic sense. Great place to relax for a weekend!

We were looking for a place to stay but we found a destination. We wanted to be in the Rhinebeck area for a few days to celebrate Bernie's 70th birthday, including a meal at the Culinary Institute and a visit to the FDR home. We had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before. This turned out to be a memorable experience. Jonna has kept the charm and special characteristics of a colonial home while artfully slipping in everything you need for your 21st century comfort, down to the little antique wood shelf on which you can rest your electronic device while you recharge it. Her breakfasts are spectacular and her unobtrusive hospitality sets everyone at ease.

Room Tip: Each room or suite is distinctive. There are good photos and descriptions on the web site, and Jonna...
