I commuted to the workshop I attended, so can't speak to sleeping accommodations. Food was tasty and healthy vegan fare; common spaces were clean and comfortable. The bookstore and cafe are nice for between-times. They run an amazingly efficient operation from what I could see. Omega staff were friendly and helpful.

Omega offers a wide range of "mostly" new-age type programs, from week-long to weekend length. the campus is beautifully situated on a small lake - swimming and boating available. Vegetarian meals are varied and delicious. Accommodations are plain but comfortable. this is a great place for either a relaxing sojourn or a challenging course.

Omega Institute is wonderfully well-hidden on the backroads of the Town of Clinton in Dutchess County. Their grounds are lovely and if it is solitude you are looking for, you can find it here. They have an excellent bookstore, clothing and gift shop with reasonable pricing. You don't have to be enrolled in a class to take advantage of a walk around their grounds or their pond (although they might appreciate your asking if it's okay). The same goes for a meal in the dining room or large cafe, although you will be charged a very reasonable fee for eating. If you are there on the right day, you might be able to join a tour of their state-of-the-art ecosystem.

Omega offers an abundance of simplicity if that is what you seek -- you can definitely hear yourself think here because most cell phones do not work! This was a boon for me but for anyone who is worried, don't be, as there are plenty of alternative arrangements to be made, and you would be surprised how nice life can be for a few days without 'cell yell.'

My room was spare but clean and very nice, and I wanted for nothing. The food was absolutely astounding! Often 'organic' food is on the blah side but not so here. Everything was first rate in the eating department.

I sensed that Omega tries a little too hard to be all things to all people from a spiritual and self-help standpoint. Somewhat overwhelming, and easy to parody if finding your satori is not on your bucket list. However, I heard only raves from people who were attending programs. I was there for R & R and enjoyed my stay. I give the institute only three stars, however, as they advertise "R & R" at prices much lower than what I was charged. I think they need to be more straightforward about describing their pricing.

The site is beautiful, the people are nice and the programs are world-class. It is worth enduring the less than luxurious accommodations to take part in Omega programs.
