This is the place to go to get your lamb testicles and other delicacies that you've been missing since your last trip to Uzbekistan. Not only are they nicely skewered for you on a shishkebab but they are also kosher. The place is friendly and on a weeknight it is not too noisy. The salads are also very nice and the prices are great -- we had 4 people and ordered quite a variety of food -- over 20 items in all and still paid only $40 per person with tip (and including a decent bottle of wine). A nice adventure.

This is a great place to go with a large group. The prices are reasonable and one could order all the courses at once or order by the course. The menu is Bukrainian, which is heavily lamb based, however there are beef, chicken and fish options. Some unusual items are available on the grill, veal sweetbreads, lamb testicles or quail. We were a group of eight, each ordering various dishes. Appetizers were fried and dripping in oil, but delicious, there were healthier choices but our group enjoyed what we ordered. The soups were served in nice sized bowls and were generously filled with many mini dumplings. Homemade, it could not have been better. The skewers of meats were melt in your mouth good, cooked to perfection and juicy however a bit salty. French fries were with mushrooms, the portions were so big we only needed two for all eight. Two things to keep in mind, the place gets very crowded and noisy. Secondly, the bathroom could have been cleaner, and the hot water in the bathroom was scalding hot. All in all the food was delicious so it was a worthwhile experience.

As per my last experience some waitress presented a bill with 20% tips that she demanded on top of the bill. I would't mind the 20% if i did not have to clean up the plates myself for the entire birthday party. Moreover, the bill was much exaggerated and she was trying to cheat us while her boss was not there. Also the PLACE is TOO noisy. I would not ever do any parties there anymore.

The chebureki always come out piping hot, the filling is very wet so don't wait until the dough goes limp. And use your hands, not fork and knife. We didn't like the samsa...tasteless. In general we were told there would be an Indian influence in Bukharan food, but it's actually just your regular Central Asian stuff, not at all spicy and a heavy emphasis on cheap meat. Fresh and hearty though, and very cheap. Remember they keep the Sabbath, so closed Fri for dinner and opens after dark on Saturday which can be 9:30pm in midsummer. Don't ask for a glass of milk with dinner! They have beer and wine though.
