“Been there - done that - will NOT do again!”
Reviewed April 24, 2013

This was a family get-a-way, and we were extremely disappointed - to say the least. Our room was NOT clean, even though we had to wait until exactly 4:00 to check in (they were still cleaning the room, but it's beyond us what they were doing). There was popcorn on the floor; there was someone's clothing under one of the beds; the kitchen cupboard had two bowls, three plates, four spoons and three forks - there were NINE of us in the suite! We couldn't even eat breakfast there. As for the waterpark, it was much smaller than expected - the "food court" was horribly expensive ($40 for a pizza???) - it was mass confusion. Check in was extremely long, and check out was just as bad - go figure?? VERY expensive for what you get - we would not go back.

Room Tip: Best advice? Stay somewhere else ... if you want to do the park, go for the day but stay elsewhere...

This was a great value and alot of fun for our family of 5. Very accommodating staff and alot to do! Suite was great for a larger family. Breakfast at Johnny Rockets was a surprising treat-- kids loved it. We used this location as a stop over for a longer trip.

My family and I (kids - 6 & 10) stayed for 2 nights during school vacation week (April) and found that we will never stay here again! We love Lake George and we normally camp out during the summer.

When we arrived, we were greeted with pleasant surroundings externally and internally and thought this was going to be a great time, then the wheels fell off of the bus! We arrived early and were allowed to access the waterpark...cool? The lockers are ridiculously priced at $16+. The lines for the popular slides were slow given that one person manned all three slides (1 family style tube ride and 2 individual tube rides). It took us a half hour to move 20 feet for the family ride, not worth the wait. The treehouse was fun with the exception of several still water spots that were nice, slimy, and slippery. The lazy mans river was so rough that if you fell from the tube you were certain to come out with road rash! The only staff member with personality was the greeter at the door, after that, the remaining staff had absolutely no personality or hint of customer service.

The room was large, yet the bathroom was falling apart. The sink was pulling off of the wall, only being held on by a full tube of caulking. The vent was CAKED with dust.

My chief complaint is that, after speaking with the front desk 4 times, we never had hot water for a shower.

Overall, I have to say that I am quite disappointed with Six Flags for allowing this to continue and maybe they should look into a company wide customer service program. I will never again visit the lodge.

We stayed two nights in the middle of April. The first impression set the tone for the rest of the visit. There were cars lined up at the entrance whe we arrived around 3 PM. There was no place to park except way out back. All the handicapped spaces were taken up as well. There was a long line at check in of course. I preregistered then took my family out to dinner and came back around 5PM. The parking situation had improved as well the line at check in.

I have to say the hotel staff was courteous and helpful. That is the only reason I will give this place 3 stars overall. The water park staff was hit and miss, some really good, some seeming not too well trained. Food and drink was overpriced and the water park and lockers were 16-18 dollars. Everything is the same as at the outdoor park pricewise. The place was just packed with people all three days. I think a lot of the adults must have brought the neighbor kids along with their own. We have four kids of our own but the volume of undersupervised kids there tried even our patience. Only our two youngest accompanied us on this trip.

The rooms were clean and plenty big. We had one of the standard 2 Queen rooms which can easily accommodate 6. Both queen beds had one side within 6 inches of the wall which means one person has to slide down to the end of the bed to get out. There was no reason for this considering the size of the room. This is not easy for older persons. The foam mattresses were comfortable. There were feather pillows in the room but they brought me a polyester pillow right away when I called. I did hear kids running around somehwere nearby on the second night. It was not in the adjacent rooms that I could tell. Apparently, sound travels really well in this building. There is a well lighted, centrally located door in the rear parking lot that is for "Emergency Exit Only." Conversely the access door for the rear parking area was down a long, unlighted sidewalk over to the left as you are facing the building. Two elevators serve this 200 room facility which means there is always a wait and the elevators are always full.

At no time was there less than a 30 minute wait for the "Boogie Bear Surf." And of course, mobs of kids up until about an hour before closing. The hot tub is adults only. There is no way to see your kids from the hot tub so if you are a couple with small children, you must use the hot tub in shifts. The hot tub area needed work, particularly a paint job. There were no clocks anywhere to be found in the the water park area. The only clue that the park was closiing came when they started roping everything off.

Our kids seemed to have fun but it was very stressful for us as older parents. If we come up to Lake George in the off season again, we will likely stay at Comfort Suites (See MY Comfort Suites review).

I stayed here during the parks 169.00 deal. On a normal night a room here goes for a hefty price. The lobby interior design of the hotel is great and the rooms are spacious and very clean. The
water park is more for young children but has some for the adults too. The food is over priced but Johnny Rockets prices are reasonable. The overall stay was great but I would not pay more than 169 for a standard room.

You can't check in till4 but you can arrive and use the waterpark the minute they open and after check out the next day you can use the park all day too. Very clean. The water park and hotel itself where very clean. The staff was very friendly as well. We had a great time and plan to go back again!

Great family get away! Facility has something for every age group! Everyone is friendly and accommodating. Atmosphere feels safe to let your 8 year old and up go off on their own inside the park and the parents can relax in the hot tub or relax in an Adirondack chair! They think of everything so that you don't have to. Truly relaxing and we are looking forward to going back!
