The food was very good. Would have been excellent except for cold squash. Drinks and service were excellent. Biggest problem was not being able to read the menu. The print was small and not enough contrast between the menu background and the font color plus the waitress had an accent that made it difficult for us old guys to understand her but she was an excellent waitress. We were seated in the darkest portion of the restaurant and didn't realize it would be a problem reading the menu

Sit near the front door, if possible where there is more light and that would solve that problem.

Restaurant is pricey but not a ripoff, I'd go back again but not when it's dark outside. .

The owner, Jack, greets you when you come in and immediately seats you. Fix the menu using bigger print and more contrast, warm up the squash and it would get 5 stars from me.

I eat at Jack's often, and have never left feeling anything other than completely satisfied. From the moment one walks through the door, the pleasant experience begins. You are either greeted by Jack himself, or one of his friendly sons. You can go directly to your table or you can sit at the bar for a perfectly mixed drink from the most famous bartender in town, David. This guy can mix any drink you could think of. Hot buttered rum?!
Before dinner you are served an array of little munchies. Fresh baked bread with seasoned olive oil, and liver pate.
Don't fill up on that though, because you'll want to save all your room fir the fantastic dinner you're about to be Served. I recommend the baked haddock. It's out of this world! Everything is prepared fresh and seasoned just right. Their mashed potatoes are heavenly, and the vegetables taste fresh from the garden. After dinner be sure to try dessert! The peach Melba is to die for, and the chocolate mousse is the best I've ever had!
Jack's is my favorite local restaurant. It's a foodie's dream- Excellent service. Excellent food. I'm getting hungry just writing about it!

My husband and I eat here regularly because the food is always good. Bartender is very knowledgable and makes a perfect vodka martini. I like mine slightly dirty and he always gets it just right. Full and half portions make for a good option depending on how hungry you are. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

Jack's American Bistro doesn't look like much from the outside, it's in an ugly building but the atmosphere inside is nice. This is a family owned and operated restaurant. They make a fantastic pear martini. They give you complimentary liver pate and crackers upon arriving and bread with dipping oil. Everything is fresh and I am told, made from scratch. The fried calamari appetizer is excellent, especially the marinara sauce that comes with it. Liked the baked brie appetizer with apples and walnuts. Love the Scallops Michael - they are using giant scallops. Portions are always generous and half plates are available. Anytime I made a reservation I never had to wait when I got there. Service prompt but could be a little friendlier.

Jack's American Bistro is a family owned and operated bar/restaurant located in Queensbury, New York. Hidden in a strip mall, Jack's has proved to be an area mainstay. It's fine cuisine consisting of and array of appetizers, chicken, pork, salad and pasta entrees are quite satisfying. It offers small plates to allow the table to mix dishes.

It has quite a bar following with regulars with warm greetings and the bartender is the best mixologist in the business. At the bar, enjoy the plumpest and tastiest shrimp cocktail ever served.
