1880 House Bed & Breakfast
Ranked #1 of 10 Pulaski B&B and Inns
Reviewed March 10, 2013

Recently took some friends' advice and stayed at 1880 House on the four day fishing trip. Linda, Dawn and the staff are delightful people, and they all made us feel right at home. Even Linda's cat, Teeka (1880's "other" owner) was as friendly as could be. The service was impeccable, and Dawn's soups were to die for! Rooms were very clean and cozy, and the overall ambiance of the place made our stay very enjoyable. There was no better way to recuperate from a long, cold day of fishing than with a bowl of hot delicious soup followed by warming by the living room's fireplace. Perfect! We can't wait to return.

We have been going to the 1880 House B&B for almost 10 years for cross country ski weekends. We went again this February. The B&B is wonderful. The bedrooms and baths are good sized and clean. The variety of rooms works well for a group or a family or just a couple or single. The common rooms are large, warm, and comfy. Linda (owner, mother) and Dawn (daughter) are so flexible and accommodating. They are the nicest people, you would choose them as friends. The breakfasts are outstanding, both savory and sweet choices and plenty of food - a terrific start to the day. The variety and flavor of the lunchtime soups is fantastic, they are one of my favorite parts. Once we get there we never want to leave, we just get settled in. It's a great home base to use for activities, and of course the cross country ski options in the area are many and varied. I've also been there in the summer for a biking weekend, and that worked out great too. This is one of my favorite B&Bs to go to, and we always have a wonderful time, in large part because of the accommodations at the 1880 House and the fabulous hosts. I highly recommend staying here if you are going to be in the area.

We couldn't believe it was 7 years since we were here last but it seemed like only yesterday. We were welcomed back by our hosts, Linda and Dawn, who made us feel as at home as if we were there every year. We went with our ski club for a weekend of XC skiing and snowshoeing and those were the outside activities. Indoors we had a cozy fire in the living room, yummy full breakfasts, various homemade soups and breads for lunch and the Saturday night full (and were we full) dinner all provided by the 1880 House. We brought our own snacks and beverages for Happy Hour and enjoyed just hanging out and talking or playing games.
Teeka the cat was an added attraction.
We'll make sure to save the date on our calendar for next year.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Annex next door. Loved the privacy and it was just a few steps away from the main...

We spent 4 great days in Pulaski at the 1880 House B&B and had a wonderful time. Breakfast was ample and varied, and loved being able to get our own when we were ready. Living room had comfortable chairs, good reading light, and a homey gas fire, as well as a shared computer for guests. The guest fridge in the basement was terrific for lunch stuff and supplements for snacks or supper. And did I mention the choices of soups from noon to six pm? Delicious! The B&B is in walking distance of a very nice restaurant and an OK Chinese restaurant as well. The bedrooms were terrific, some with fireplaces. We will return!

Room Tip: Room one was great with ensuite, room 4 had a fireplace...

We were treated the very best at this lovely, warm, friendly B&B hosted by a mother and daughter team that cannot be beat. Delightfully decorated rooms with lots of character and fantastic home cooked meals make for a wonderful outing. Great X-country skiing nearby.

This is a charming Inn. Spacious and nicely furnished rooms, some with fireplaces. Friendly, accommodating staff. Linda has five great soups and homemade breads available all day. Our hiking club has returned here for x-country/snowshoeing trips annually for several years and everyone has enjoyed this warm, comfortable place.

Where do I start.
I have been going to the Salmon River for years and stayed in many places but none of them compare to The 1880. Linda and staff are great and make you feel at home every time. The rooms are always clean and very comfortable. You can start your day with hot coffee, french toast, fresh baked breads and muffins. The delicious soups after a day on the river are always a welcome sight. I was just there for a few days with my two younger boys and along with the great fishing we always talk about how much we enjoyed the 1880 and Linda's hospitality. Its the first place I call when we are planning a trip and when we can't get a room there the trips just aren't the same.
