While visiting on graduation weekend we needed a quick bite after graduation practice and searched up this little place. The meal was very nice, service prompt and courteous and price quite reasonable. It was also somewhat quiet and relaxed, which is what we were looking for. The one drawback is the bathrooms are in a hall so you feel like you're going the wrong way and into an alley and they were not terribly pleasant. (I would recommend someone fix the bathroom situation as that does bring down the experience a bit.)
Anyhow, after graduation we had a bunch of hungry people, including guests who had joined us after a long drive, and we needed a reliable place for a light celebratory lunch. Off to Alex's we go and don't you know everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals, clean plate club all around - service was very nice - if a bit quirky - and the price was great for a large party. I would not hesitate to recommend this to you for a casual meal. It seems their rice pudding is a favorite as people came in just for that. Check their hours as they are limited.
