The Walkway is just another example of locally unique attractions. Weekends you can expect to be crowded. First timers (2nd & 3rd timers too!) will want to bring their camera. I would recommend dressing in layers, depending on the weather, it can be quite breezy as you cross the open water. Bring your bike, skates or well-behaved dog, either side of the Walkway connects to a rail trail to allow you to continue your outdoor journey. I believe you can also rent scooters for people with mobility issues from an independent business near the Walkway. It's a must do activity if you are passing through the area and a great way to enjoy the beautiful vistas of the Hudson Valley. Be sure to check their website for hours of operation and current conditions.

Went here for the first time with husband and two kids (a teen and a tween). Husband has a definite fear of heights but did fine. Kids loved it. Great exercise, great views. A unique way to see the Hudson.

If you are looking to stroll or a nice jog the bridge is a place that offers both. Just be sure to bring water as the only place to get it is at each end of the walkway.

Walked over the Hudson. The views are fantastic. But when it's cold, it's freezing! And when it's hot, it's really roasting! There is always a breeze which makes the cold really frigid but makes the hot weather bearable! Definitely worth the trip to do it; as a walk that's done everyday - maybe not so much, unless you live near it.

Breathtaking and quiet. Easy walk, plenty of space to move about except on saturdays or sundays. This converted rail bridge is really neat. I would suggest entry on the Highland NY side. Easy and few issues. If on the Poughkeepsie side, a piece of italian pastry at LaDeliciouso is in order....Near by underneath the structure.
