Went to this surprise of a French restaurant with a party of nine and had a fantastic meal. The food was outstanding - melted camembert cheese with greens and french bread, two different types of raw oysters, and bone marrow and bread were some of the appetizers. Main dishes were short ribs (I heard the person eating this was purring), yellowfin tuna cooked to perfection, and pork with risotto that all melted in your mouth. They make wonderful Moscow Mules and other tasty cocktails and have a nice wine list. The service was excellent - servers checked in enough but not too much and the physical space was not too loud for conversation and not so cramped that you felt you were sitting on top of other patrons. What a surprise to find such a terrific place in Poughkeepsie!

What this restaurant is doing along Main Street in Poughkeepsie, I do not know. It is by far the best restaurant that I have enjoyed in the area in years. Thank you trip advisor for paying reviews of this place, otherwise I would have missed it. The dining room has the authentic decor and feel of a Brasserie. The service was first rate, unpretentious, personal and professional. The selection if beer and wine hit the spot. But the food was delicious, just plain scrumptious. The steak with pomme frite, cod and duck entrees were all served hot, in the right portions and beautifully. The deserts were all first rate as well. In spite of the neighborhood, this little dining oasis will transfer you to another place and time. For small parties of three to four, enjoy one of the beautiful red booths.

I've had a few great experiences at Brasserie, but this one fell flat. Octopus was super chewy (I'm accustomed to a very tender preparation at my favorite eatery) and even my favorite dish (Brasserie's fried oysters) were chewy and overdone. I will return, hopefully to a better dining experience.

Everything on this menu is French...and delicious. My fave being the Camembert appetizer and the mussel entree...perhaps the best I've ever had. Oysters are fantastic! It is a more upscale restaurant so I can only go here on payday. :)

Went to have early dinner with my son and he ordered a hamburger that was excellent and I ordered the lobster risotto which was good but would have been excellent if cooked just a merely 3-5 minutes more. It was in the hard side of al dente but not raw by any means. Service was really friendly and professional.
