We happened into Babycakes by chance, 199 mi. from home. The place was casual, woody.
The dinner was delicious, obviously prepared with care. My fish was perfect, that is to say memorable. What more can you say to give a compliment. Thanks for being there.

“Great sandwiches to go”
Reviewed September 15, 2013 via mobile

Casual restaurant near Vassar with outdoor seating. Friendly CIA trained staff, nice atmosphere. We had a chipotle chicken sandwich to go which came with a mixed green salad and a little container of balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Would definitely stop in again while in the area.

“Nice”
Reviewed September 13, 2013

We stayed in Poughkeepsie for one night and came here for a meal on a Friday night. The place was quite busy, but service was polite and resonably quick. We all chose from the specials, and we all enjoyed our homemade meals. Prices seem reasonable to us. Don't be mislead by the name, it is more a restaurant, (which serves nice coffee) than a cafe.

“Good food, vegan friendly”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

I was introduced to babycakes by a friend who highly recommended it and I was not disappointed, except when it came to dessert-the vegan cupcake was unpleasantly dry as are most vegan cupcakes. But the food was great, I'd go back.

“Enjoyable outside casual dining”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

My wife and I eat there most times we are in town. On our most recent visit she had the gazpacho, gluten free ham and brie sandwich and the summer sangria. She raved about all three. I had the sausage, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on ciabatta bread. The sandwich was excellent, fresh and tasty, but very light on the sausage. They also have a nice beer list and I tried the Reissdorf Kolsch on tap. Perfect for a warm summer afternoon sitting outside. We won't hesitate to visit again.
