“Nice place for a bite to eat with a warm atmosphere.”
Reviewed August 19, 2012

A friend and I were in the mood for good Italian and they suggested coming to Amicis, as they had always enjoyed it in the past.

I ordered the atomic salad and was very happy with it. The dressing was spicy, but not overly so, the tortilla Chios very light and crunchy, just like I like them, and the chicken and shrimp dine perfectly to my liking.

My friend ordered the chicken parmesan and it was huge, and while it was good, I thought it was a little over cooked.

The atmosphere was very nice. A warm welcoming environment with a staff that was very friendly and the decor nicely done for the area.

I would definitely return if in the area and craving quick, but good Italian.

“Good food”
Reviewed July 10, 2012

They have really good food but it was a little expensive for own pocket. I definitely enjoyed the food though, so I guess you get what you paid for.

“I love this place”
Reviewed May 30, 2012

I've been here a few times now and I leave loving this place. I was recently there for a luncheon we had in my department. The food was outstanding, from fried calamari to bruschetta, it was all good. The service was excellent, our waiter being extra accommodating. They also carry a wine that has become my favorite, La Puerta, a Malbec from Argentina that I have not been able to find anywhere else in the area. It's conveniently located near the railroad station, so a visitor not very familiar with the area or without a car to get around may find this place a convenient place to get a good meal. I highly recommend it.

“Napoli in Poughkeeepsie”
Reviewed May 22, 2012

Chef Joel and his staff are amazing! This restaurant is the real deal. We live in Eastern Long Island in the Hamptons, and when we have an opportunity to visit friends and family in upstate New York, this is our must go to choice in restaurants. Whether it is just my wife and me, or a family gathering of fifteen or more, Joel and his friendly staff truly make everyone feel special. The red sauce is amazing, the Mt Carmel Pizza is worth the trip alone. From veal dishes to osso bucco, and pasta dishes you would think you were in the Almalfi Coast. Joel has also improved his wine selection, and the prices are more than fair. Treat yourself and love ones and don't miss out on this one, you will be glad you did! The Haines Family
