Quaint little restaurant with gourmet style menu. Highly recommended! Ask for the Cloe fries... There's nothing like the, anywhere else!

“Great starters and desert!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2013 via mobile

Seating was prompt and cordial. Our starters came quickly and were fantastic. She Crab Soup was superb and Bang Bang Shrimp were crispy, creamy and spicy; what could be better? Only problem was that this was the most humongous serving of shrimp we had ever seen! A bunch went home with us. Side salads were served in a timely manner. Dressings were good and served on the side. Only hitch came next; had to wait too long for entrees. Main course portions were very generous and okay; not as good as the starter and soup. Had room to share one desert - chocolate Kahlua cake was to die for. Service was very polite and efficient. Final tab not bad. Overall would say that this has to be one of the best venues in the area.

“Soups were great”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2013

We went with high hopes of a great dining experience, and left very disappointed. The seating on the outdoor (enclosed) porch area was ok, but it felt like we were at a tent wedding. The soups we ordered were simply scrumptuous, but dinner did not sit well with either of us. I ordered the chicken marsala which was tasty, but the tendons in the chicken were a turn off for me. I expected thinner medallions. Again, tasty, and i ate the mashed and veggies with the marsala sauce. My partner ordered a fried chicken dish but quickly noticed that it tasted like fried fish. Not good. Are they using the same oil for the fish and chicken? Seemed so. Our lovely waitress was so apologetic and offered desert on the house. We both loved the soups.

“Best restaurant in area”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2013

The food here is uniformly excellent and whenever we are in the area we make a point to eat there. It's a bring your own bottle restaurant and because it is so popular, reservations are advised.

“Lake vacation”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 31, 2013

I recently ate at the Café while on vacation with my family which included 2 children and an infant. This is a BYO restaurant. We found the menu varied; with a choice for every appetite. Two of us chose the petite filet and crab cake combination. One steak was cooked as requested but the other one had to be returned to the kitchen to cook further. No biggie. Better undercooked than overcooked. I requested medium and it was served rare. The crab cake has an ample amount of crab but I thought it was over breaded for my taste. My son-in-law had a pasta plate with shrimp which he thoroughly enjoyed. The service from our waitress was outstanding! She was very accommodating, patient with the children, and attended to all our requests and more. I would recommend making a reservation. This is one is one of the best in the area.
