The place looks a bit rundown, but you get the feeling its just part of the ambiance. The chairs in the main dining room are very brightly colored and very distracting. The food is decent quality Mexican style food, and is some of the only authentic feeling Mexican food I have come across in the North Country. The free salsa and chips they put on the table save the miscolored restaurant. They alone are worth the dinner! Their quesadillas are huge and delicious. Portion sizes seem to be huge. Not a private eating area, but great for friends and families. Oh and they have authentic and delicious Margaritas! Worth it if you are in the mood.

when I first walked in I thought it was a kids mexican play place. The waitress, who was nice, seated us outside which is a much better setting. Had shrimp & steak fajitas that were good. Margaritas good too. After dinner we went to the bar to try the sangria. Sat there for almost 10 mins & were completely ignored :( would have stayed, but... Figured we'd get a drink somewhere else. Their loss... I tip bartenders well, since I am one ;)

We went to the Cactus Grill having heard that it was good but we were suprised by the amount of food we got! We ordered the side of guacamole for $7.99 and received a bowl that had to be a full avacado in nice chunks with just the right seasonings. A very nice salsa and chips come with the meal and these alone could have filled the 3 of us to max.

We tried 2 different margaritas, the Cactus Gold for $5.75 and the 1800 for $7.75. We thought the Cactus Gold was actually better? Main courses: Steak Fajita; shrimp & Steak Fajita; and Chicken Burrito ($13.99,$15.99 & $11.50) were huge platters of food. We could have shared one for the 3 of us!! We took most home and ordered the Mucho Grande Brownie ($7.50) WOW!!!! A must try! Total for 3, $79.

There are large rooms inside that are very colorful and a great deck outside with a view of the waterfalls, very nice if you are out before the bugs come in the evening. We went to the bar for an after dinner drink and we were ignored so we left..lost 2 stars on that! Service inside was very good!

This spot has always been a favorite when in North Country, but our most recent visit was disappointing. We were a party of five, family and friends, and the restaurant was overwhelmed with a group of approximately forty young people arriving just after we were seated. Our server was attentive, but out food was not a good as we have previously experienced. I always order the two chicken enchiladas with a green sauce served with Mexican rice and beans. The tortillas were hard and dry, the chicken filling was luke warm and they arrived without the green sauce and minimal cheese. The rice was also hard and it was difficult to determine if it was cooked all the way or had dried out.

My husband had the enchiladas, as well, and they mirrored mine. Entrees ordered by others in our group were average at best.

The décor is gaudy Mexican and fun. The room is always bustling with a loud crowd. However, I have to wonder if it will continue if the food quality does not improve to the food of old.
