“Meh...”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2014 via mobile

The place was busy for a Sunday night. The server was friendly and somewhat attentive. The food was pretty mediocre. $13 calamari was like eating a plate of rubber bands. The breading fell off and it tasted like old grease. The Caesar salad for $9 was a small romaine salad with two stale bread chunks and lemon juice. No garlic, anchovy.or cheese. Veal scallopini $17 was 2 pieces of veal with lemon chunks, nothing exciting. $2 extra for a small spaghetti with raw garlic. The" Mama's Favorite" was a train wreck. Gnocchi with chicken, lobster and artichokes. The gnocchi was gloopy, the.chicken tasted bland and freezer burned. The lobster meat consisted of the meat extracted from the tiny under legs of the lobster. Just spindly and way over cooked. We've had a decent meal there before. When we complained about the gnocchi the server said there was no one there that could take it off our bill. The pizza is usually pretty decent. Apparently the owner has several restaurants in Potsdam. Its a shame to just serve the cheapest food possible and charge an exorbitant amount if money. Train the kitchen staff to cook better and you could have a real great place here

“Good food, good service, nice location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 20, 2013

We ate here with another couple after being curious about this place for a while and were very pleasantly surprised. We had a couple of small pizzas, the fried calamari appetizer, and chicken parm. Everyone was very happy with the food, I especially enjoyed their marinara which was fresh and bright. The calamari app was delicious and I am definitely looking forward to having it the next time we go. The pizzas were very thin and crisp and the toppings were just right. The one criticism I have is that things are a la carte and a side of pasta for a $15 or so chicken parm entree was an extra $2. Add a salad and before you know it, you're spending $20 on a chicken entree.
The service here was excellent. We sat outside in the early evening and their were no mosquitoes to bother us which was a pleasant surprise. We're really looking forward to our next visit.

“Excellent food and service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2013

Our daughter is graduating from Clarkson University this year but we've never eaten here before. That makes me very sad because this was one of the best meals I've ever had at a restaurant. Our daughter is gluten free so going out can be tricky. They serve gluten free pasta here and the server was able to verify and suggest sauces that were also gluten free. They even have a gluten free chocolate cake. I had the most delicious meal, "Mama's Favorite". It was gnocchi, chicken, lobster and artichokes in a wine sauce. I can't say enough about the food. Our son-in-law had spaghetti and meatball. Yup, just one meatball but it had to be the size of a baseball. It was, by far, the largest meatball I've ever seen. He loved his meal. My husband and I shared an Oreo, almond cheesecake which was wonderful. My only suggestion for the cake is that it would be even better with a few raspberries on it or a raspberry sauce. The service was prompt and friendly. I have no complaints. We're thinking of having a graduation dinner here, that's how good it was!

“Good quality Italian-American food available family style.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2013

Nice restaurant. They had a full-house but the service was still very good.

Don't expect high-end Italian. Very much more Italian-American. A significant step up from the typical "red sauce or white sauce with that pasta" kind of restaurant.

Portions are huge - even for the single servings. But there is a nice option to order plates family-sized. Fosters sharing and sampling everyone's choices.

Worth a return trip.

This is our *Go To* ! spot, traveling to and fro Clarkson University to pick up/visit/ or drop off our son- The staff and service are very friendly and accommodating- and not only is everything we've had there Delicous! , it's homemade and the portions are HUGE. ONE meatball for 2 people is plenty. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Can't wait til next time!
