“I think the owners are too inexperienced to run the place. Food is so bad if they have any.”

every year we try to go for the 3 day victorian dinner during the christmas holidays. This has become one of those tourist traps with bad food. every year they run out of food though for the charles dickens festival. after 3 years of us going for tasty short ribs and all three times having them say they have bought more than enough at the time of the weeks before reservation and even when asked 1 hour before when we checked in. we waited longer than nonreservation people for our table. mmm.was assured they would not run out of short ribs or goose. we never had the goose as it always had run out. this time they ran out of Goose, short ribs etc etc. just like last year. they seem to not learn or change and not care. the cheddar cheese recipe from the 16 c was velveeta cheese, no kidding. The ham they had run out of but they served pork chops instead and never said a word. historic food my foot.. just terrible management and the food really was horrible this time. I will not return even though i love the charm of the town, the costumes. the normal menu is bad food but for 3 days they have a special menu and served in the past good short ribs. not worth it. so disappointing as we travelled 2.5 hours to eat on saturday and they had little food even though we had asked for reserved items and offered to prepay. mind u they had more of the pm and sunday to serve people. also, they gave us a bad table and not the one we requested but we did get it changed. the waitress was nice but it was so bad, awful really. the food, the management. we felt awful to have to deal with this at all and actually felt like jerks around the holidays in a small town where the locals are used to shoddy situation and accept it even tho they are overrun by tourists during the festival. altho we heard every local knows it is bad and were advised to go elsewhere we did not listen. however, they are presenting themselves as otherwise. really we left 2 times and the proprietor said, we found a goose for u that u reserved. well, it was a piece of goose my husband thinks was leftovers and tasteless and the fresh ham etc was pork chops and white colored. I love history and love port jefferson but never again even with the gift certificate we got for the debacle. The prix fixe for this.... 30 dollars. what a joke. we knew to not go that route and so glad we did not. main courses like 19 for bland food.

We took our daughter out for sunday brunch for her birthday. The restaurant was very dingy & dirty!! There were flies and gnats everywhere. The food was horrible. We all had something from the brunch menu. The scrambled eggs were not cooked fully, the hash browns were oily, burnt chunks of cold potatoes. They were served on a plate with cold toast and warm cut up fruit that was on the verge of being spoiled... Service was awful... Definitely not worth the money!!!!

Don't be fooled by the crowd like we were. Since it has a great location and outdoor seating people tend to end up here but don't make the same mistake. The food is awfull. Fish and chips was very oily fried fish. Very much like Gortons frozen fish filets but even more breading and so oily it was inedible. The burger wasn't good either. Cheap fatty meat. The service was the worst we have ever experienced and we actually left no tip as a result. We are typically very generous tippers but a point needed to be made. We heard another waitier tell the couple next to us that bread is not included with lunch but for an additional $1.50 they could have some. The interior was quite old and outdated as well. There was nothing good about our experience there.

A warm greeting waits for you in this small, cozy seafood restaurant. The food is nothing to write home about. My tilapia was bland, underseasoned and dull. On the plus side, it's on the lower cost side for the area so even if you're not happy with your dinner, you won't blow up when you see the bill. Service is very friendly and helpful. I would love to come back here if only the food were better.
