“Rude staff and poor service”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Billie's is a local dump but could be a charming dive bar if the staff and manager knew how to treat customers. We were ignored for the first 20 minutes of our visit. We were a party of four and the place wasn't too crowded (probably because of the discourteous hired help and management). We waited forever for our meals (which were ok) but one person in our party didn't receive his meal. Upon asking for the bill, we asked to have his meal taken off the bill. The manager came over and said, "I have a deal for you...I'll take care of the meal if you never come back". No problem....we have no intention of going back to this dump and you shouldn't frequent this establishment either. There are too many better pubs in Port Jefferson that know how to properly treat good paying customers.

“Stop in - You Wont Be Sorry”
Reviewed October 12, 2012

Whether you are a Long Islander or a visitor, you will be pleased by Port Jefferson's version of "Cheers" when you enter Billie's. Because Port Jefferson is a charming village located at Port Jefferson harbor - where ferries run regularly between this eastern Long Island location and Bridgeport, Connecticut - tourist traffic is always a variable when dining in P.J. So too with Billie's. On a busy weekend, you might find that the dining room is full. However, on a moderate to quiet time time, you will find that Billie's is a welcoming establishment with some very enjoyable selections on their menu and a happy hour that runs for several hours. My husband and I are locals and can recommend the following:

Wings. Get 'em "naked" with sauces and sour cream on the side.Sink your teeth into crispiness. (At happy hour, they are 15 cents each with a minimum order of ten).

Burger platter. Burgers with plenty of topping choices, served on a toasted English muffin with crispy thin fries, tomato, lettuce, pickle and choice of cole slaw, mac salad or potato salad. Mmm.... good.

Fish and chips. We live on an island and Billie's is the ONLY place where I order fish and chips. Batter fried but never soggy, served with cole slaw and those crispy thin potato chips (you can opt for sweet potato fries at an extra charge). Like 'em with an English touch? Ask your server for a shaker of malt vinegar and sprinkle away.

Lest you think that the menu is all about wings, burgers and fish 'n chips, you'll find freshly broiled fish and other entrees that are the chef's creations of the day.

Billie's is a comfortable, respectable establishment where families, seniors and local college students come together to enjoy a satisfying meal at a satisfying price. We're bully on Billie's.

“It's where the locals go”
Reviewed September 21, 2012

The food is ok (you can get a pretty good hot open sandwich with fries) and the beer is
cold. Happy hour is on Billie's time and when you go for an early dinner you see everyone
in town including families. Billies is always reliable for wings and the like. The best is when
it is a snowy night, the town is empty and everyone meets up at Billie's. it is a local's favorite.

“Dump”
Reviewed July 25, 2012

Trashy place, terrible food. High school reunion. Dirty, but with none of the charm of a "dive bar." Inconsistent pricing, rude staff, place is packed way too tight. Needs a visit from the fire marshall on a weekend.

“Worst experience here”
Reviewed July 5, 2012 via mobile

Me and my family ate here when we took the ferry and it smelled awful and the food was ok. French onion soup was icky and potato skins and nachos were terrible as well! Awful place. Never going back!
