Great service, pleasant atmosphere and fresh, good tasting food. For Thai it could have had some spice....no heat at all and the item on the menu had 1 * which meant it should have had some heat to it. From my observation....either order with 2 or 3 stars on menu OR ask for some spice to the dish!

Sawatdee is, without a doubt, my new favorite place to eat in Plattsburgh. Their food is about as good as food can get and their lunch prices are very reasonable. The service is very friendly (and helpful) and they're very quick. I would absolutely recommend Sawatdee to anyone who's looking for a place to have well priced, delicious food.

While so much more could be done with the decor to make the restaurant more attractive, friendly, and warm, one really goes there for the food. Located right in the heart of downtown Plattsburgh on Bridge Street, Sawatdee's offers an ethnic dining alternative that is complemented only by the Himalaya Restaurant around the corner as culinary experiences off the beaten path. The five of us started our meal with a selection of appetizers including two Fresh Rolls with shrimp ($4.95), Giew Za, a fried chicken dumpling served with a soy/vinagar sauce ($3.95), and skewers of Satay Chicken ($5.95). Main entrees and noodle dishes are cooked to order. Every dish came out of the kitchen steaming hot. The downside is that dishes for our party of five did come out at different times with one being considerably later than the rest (we weren't charged for this dish as there had been a mixup in the kitchen). Every entree was excellent! The Pad Thai with Shrimp ($10.95) was as good as I have tasted anywhere else. The Pad Kee Mao with Shrimp, also known as "Drunken Noodle", ($10.95) is one of their spicier dishes and my personal favorite. A new choice for all of us tonight was the Rama Delight. This large plate of steamed vegetables and chicken tossed in a peanut sauce was rich and filling at only $10.95 as well. Unfortunately, after these large noodle dishes, there was no room left for dessert. Service was generally good, certainly very friendly, although a couple of mistakes were made with both our order and our bill. Nonetheless, these were all corrected or compensated for. Overall, the food is great and we've always been willing to overlook an atmosphere somewhat less than interesting, with occasional service problems, because we always leave having enjoyed an excellent meal.

Was this a "find"! Very pleasant experience! Warm, welcome in downtown Plattsburgh, NY.
Food was excellent! We like Thai food and we were not disappointed at all.
The setting was not as nice as some Thai restaurants we have eaten at, but Plattsburgh isn't Paris either! Plattsburgh is a college town. The building is rather old, but this does add to it's charm. You have to judge it by it's surroundings. It was clean and neat. It is set on a corner just around the corner from other nice eateries.
The service was very good, and the staff were polite and business like.

If you are in the area...Don't miss this one!
