“Superb B & B”

Point Au Roche Lodge is fantastic! With it's beautiful and romantic rooms, some of which feature gas fireplace and jacuzzi, it is a perfect and romantic couples getaway. My husband and I have been there twice and can't wait to go back a third time. Gorgeous, classy, comfortable, romantic . . . just AMAZING! Book yourself a room soon--you won't regret it! The hosts are very friendly and accommodating, the great room is perfection, and Burlington, VT is close by and accessible by a nearby ferry. We just celebrated belated Valentine's Day, loved it, and can't wait to go back!

If traveling in the Plattsburgh area the Lodge should be your first place to consider. It was extremely inviting from the moment we arrived that evening. I would highly recommend the jacuzzi rooms, which seem larger and with large gas fireplaces. The overall experience was absolutly fantastic. looking forward to a return visit this summer. Thanks again, Karen & Kreston.

We really enjoyed our stay. I can't say enough about the place, the people and the setting. We came up from maryland for a family burial in upstate N.Y. with my sisters family from Baltimore. My other sister, from Carmel Ca. stopped by (on their way to Burlington to catch a flight back, very convenient), as well as cousins from San Francisco and Atlanta. All thought the Lodge was gorgeous, and Karen and Creston very welcoming. We ended up in the Great Room, in front of a fire, sipping some of their wine, and telling stories of days gone by....Truly a tremendous finish to a trying week...Thank you so much for your hospitality and graciousness. Words I often use to describe Charleston S.C. (, our favorite B & B- Two Meeting Street) but are entirely appropriate here as well.
You can't go wrong staying here, only $50 more a night than the holiday Inn in Malone n.y. , where we stayed the first night...
Thanks again

Another great stay (this is our fifth) - we can't say enough about the graciousness of Karen and Creston. Loved those delicious breakfasts and playing Scrabble in the Great Room in front of the fire! Very restful and beautiful location right next to a State Park.

I chose the Planter room and it was even better than I'd expected: 4-poster bed and upscale furnishings, views from two walls - including a sweet terrace - plus a fine Jacuzzi and gas fireplace. The common areas are just as well-furnished and maintained as my room, with everything a guest could desire. Karen and Creston are your friends, and Creston will cook you the best breakfast for miles, I'll wager. I wanted an active vacation, so I did a bit of hiking in the state park just across the road, and then rented a bike right there at the lodge. Your hosts take research of the local attractions and restaurants seriously, so they can give you tips on pretty-much anything. Are you surprised that I plan to return?

Room Tip: Note that from rooms facing Lake Champlain, one can just see the lake on the horizon, so I don't...

We stayed at the Point Au Roche Lodge in early October. We had planned to stay in Burlington, VT, but there was no availability. The great reviews on Tripadvisor convinced me to book here for my husband's birthday before heading to Vermont via the nearby ferry. The reviews were spot-on. It's a lovely lodge across from the State Park from which it's named. Creston was very helpful when we checked in and we immediately went for an afternoon hike. There's a nice trail that ends at the point with beautiful views of Lake Champlain.

We stayed in the Gardner Room with a view of the meadow. It was clean, well-appointed and the bed was comfy. Breakfast was FANTASTIC!!! If traveling with a partner, order one of each entree and split it.

Karen and Creston are great hosts and we'd definitely love to return.

Why would one stay at a chain hotel when the Point Au Roche Lodge is nearby!! Absolutely the best B & B on our entire trip across the northeast and New England. Karen and Creston are definitely the perfect host. The rooms are well appoint and oh, so comfortable!!! Could have stayed a week!! The breakfast was delicious and the people we met there were interesting, fun and great to talk to. We had a very nice dinner at Irises Cafe in town. All in all a perfect experience. We are thinking about a return visit.
