“2 night stay at Plainview”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

It is located at one of the exit along 495 highway. The location is not that great as there are no shop at the surrounding in a walking distance. The room is big and clean but it is so empty. Decoration are a bit old. A simple and standard hotel room for short stay should be OK, but no a long stay one.

This was our second visit back to this hotel. The rooms are large, clean, comfortable, and light. Staff at the front desk were friendly and welcoming. There is plenty of free outdoor parking in the hotel lot.All in all a nice stay.

We stayed for a swim meet and thought about eating out. Why?! The food in the cafe was so fresh and hot. All home made by Savino and it was excellent! Chicken Kung pao, chicken parmagiana, ginger salmon. It's a little secret spot, stop in for a drink made perfectly by Willy (awesome dude) and enjoy the fresh food !!

Though a little dated in its decor, and average food at best, my family and i had a pleasant stay at this hotel. We were displaced by hurricane sandy with two children, and our first night was Halloween. We were pleasantly surprised that the staff had put together a room to room trick or treat for the kids. A little touch like that means a whole lot when you are trying to give your kids a small level of normalcy when then can't go back to their home. Thanks to all at the Four Points in Plainview.

Sheraton quality high level service at a dated hotel. Rooms are VERY dark and hard to work. I was in a room that when I had the windows open, guests leaving out the back could peep in. Not a good room for a female! Old exercise room that needs a overhaul, but good value for the price and the breakfast is very good and staff amazing friendly. Not a place if you need to work out or have a lot of work to do in your roo,

Room Tip: Dont get the back room near the outside stair case unless you like folks exiting who can look into y...

This Four Points Hotel is the perfect place to stay while on business or pleasure.
When I am on business in Long Island this is where I prefer to stay. I have spent over 30 nights there this year.
The amenities are very good. The restaurant is small but the food offerings are varied and always prepared well. The rooms are always clean and the beds are comfortable.
What really puts this hotel over the top is the entire staff. From the general manager, Takir Rafiq, to the service personnel.
You are always greeted warmly at the front desk with a smile from the person checking you in as well as when you are checking out.
Tina and her staff in the restaurant make you feel like they are glad to see you, whether the first visit or repeat customers.
Whatever the team can do assist you during your stay they do whatever is possible.
I recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay while in central Long Island.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper the rooms on the south side are quieter

By all accounts this is a very nice hotel. The check-in went smoothly and the front desk was cheery and helpful throughout the entire stay (more on this later). There isn't anything in particular that is located in Plainview but the hotel is located just off the exit of the Long Island Expressway, making traveling around the island very convenient. The LIE can be noisy at times, especially with heavy trucks. There was ample free parking. Numerous restaurants can be found within a 10 or 15 minute drive.

There is a full bar and small restaurant located in the lobby. My auto club room rate included free breakfast and we had a choice of a cooked to order breakfast and a hot and cold buffet. The breakfast was pretty good, but I didn't have any other meals. There were two public computers (Mac) in the lobby for guest use and they had very speedy internet connections. The public areas were clean. The exercise room was in good condition and had nice machines.

My room was oversized, clean and up-to date. The king bed was very comfortable. The bathroom had the best shower head I have ever had in a hotel! Several guests agreed with us. The TV channel selection was only fair and the TV wasn't terribly responsive to the remote. The free wifi internet was blazing fast.

All this would have been enough and this review would normally be done, except that my stay resuled from my evacuation ahead of and after hurricane Sandy. Plainview is located inland so we chose to evacuate to this location. Under these extraordinary circumstances, the front desk managed to retain their composure and professionalism during the height of the storm and the several days afterwards during the most difficult of circumstances. There were many families with children and the hotel went above and beyond to entertain them, even going so far as to arrange a safe indoor trick or treat Halloween party. There were widespread backouts and food shortages after the storm and but the hotel provided simple lunch and dinner buffets for the guests and the surrounding community that were well priced and much appreciated. I was able to work all day long at the public computers and in my room. The internet was more than adequate except for some storm related outages beyond the hotel's control.

In short, this hotel went well above and beyond what could be expected and they are to be commended.

Room Tip: Try to get a room that doesn't face the Long Island Expressway - it will be much quieter.
