“A Great Place to Spend (at least) Half of a Saturday”
Reviewed October 31, 2012

It was a little more commercial than in the past, but still great fun and lots of stands and merchants' shops to explore. Some have been there since the beginning and some are fairly new, but, together, they offer a wonderful opportunity to find that 'something special' that you didn't know you needed or wanted, but can't live without. Good eats, too, for very casual and/or finger food dining. Very popular place and the extensive parking lots fill quickly, so early arrival is recommended.

“Family Fun”
Reviewed October 30, 2012

At the Windmill Farm & Craft Market there is something of interest for all ages. It is such a culmination of interests. Prior to 10/31 there was an outdoor street of shops. Up until the 2nd Saturday in December the indoor buildings are open. So it is a great place to go to do some Christmas shopping. If you want to find something hand crafted or unique you can find it here.
During the growing season you can buy alot of local produce which is great quality. Admission is free! It is only open on Saturday from 8:00AM to 4:30PM.

Here are some of the shops of interest: The Fabric Shop (sell fabric but also have ready made items), Colleen Ney massage therapist (15 or 20 minute sessions with clothes on!), The pearl Reef (free ear piercing. Pick an oyster and get your own personal pearl),Young Hill Ostrich and Emu (Emu oil is anti-inflammatory and beneficial to the skin), Clute's Maple Products, Animal Portraits (From a photo of your pet(s) a hand painted portrait is done and hand quilted), Deerskin Products, Glenora Wine Cellars, Wine Country Furniture, and many more. Of course there is plenty to eat. Lots of home baked goodies, kettle corn, fudge, and lunch places. There is even a horse drawn cart you can take the kids on for a ride.

Overall it is just a nice Saturday getaway. The country there is scenic and the people couldn't be nicer. It does get very crowded so it isn't the place to go to if it is hard for you to stand for any length of time or if you don't have the patience to wait in line. There is an eating area where you can sit down.

“Nice Variety”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

The Windmill offers a great variety of goods and is always an enjoyable outing. There are food vendors too so you can go early for breakfast or later for lunch.
During the growing season they have plenty of produce to choose from, and there are all kinds of crafts as well as ready-made items. I like to peruse the baked goods tables and treat myself to a loaf or two of homemade bread!
There is something for everyone and it's a nice drive getting there.
