We stumbled on Fox Run by sheer chance, as we were staying less than half a mile away (on the lake). We knew we would be visiting, since it was just a short walk and they served food as well as wine. And we knew that Finger Lakes wines can be uneven. But Fox Run's products are actually quite good - and they really do the whole job right on premises: cultivate vines, make wine, bottle and age it. (I mention this because it turned out that they also perform one or more of these functions for some of the other wineries in the area.) The semi-dry Riesling became a favorite; we also enjoyed the Cabernet-Lemberger blend and the flowery Gewurtzraminer. The tour is informative, the tasting fun, and the food remarkably good. Not to mention the lake view from the terrace!
