“Support local hop farmers”
Reviewed August 26, 2014

The folks at Climbing Bines are trying to resurrect the historic hop farming for which New York was previously known. The hops are up front and center as you arrive, and the overall scene is very pleasing. If you are a craft beer fan, you owe it to yourself (and the industry) to stop by and sample the product of folks who are trying to create a farm-to-bottle experience. These will probably not be the best craft beers you will ever taste (though the IPA is quite good), but they are fresh and local. If you are in the area, this is definitely worth a visit.

“Interesting”
Reviewed August 22, 2014

Very cool place and enjoyed trying several kinds of their beer. Would have liked to learn more about the hops they grow onsite but didn't really get any time with the woman working. Did overhear some of what she was saying to other group visiting.

“Hop farm and disc golf”
Reviewed July 24, 2014

What a great concept! They started as a hop farm and then added a brewery. But they also have a 9 hole disc golf course and corn hole. Of all the winery/brewery stops around the lake, this was the only one that seemed kid friendly. In fact, I saw one of the brewers young kid there.

They have a small tap room that opens into a covered pavillion for sitting and drinking. This has views of the hop farm and the lake. The tables and counters are all beautifully done. There seems to be a lot of locals that came by for a pint and fill of their growler. I stayed in the area for a week, and headed off the lake at 4:30 each day to run to Climbing Bines to do the same.

Can't say enough about this place. Awesome setting on the lake. Beautiful views. Tasting room located right in the middle of there hops fields. The owners are awesome people. Went there for the first time last weekend and left thinking I knew them for years! The tasting room is beautiful the beers are made right there and are all awesome! They even have a disk golf course on the property! Do yourself a favor a stop there on your next trip through! No question you will become a regular.

“Good Local Brewery and Hop Farm, Great Views”
Reviewed July 9, 2014

The Climbing Bines Tasting Room and Hop Farm was the first stop of our day. It was conveniently located right off Route 14 and had a new and beautiful tap room opening up to a great view of the lake, farms, and the climbing bines right outside. The brewery uses between 90% and 100% local ingredients depending on the beer which is nice to see as well. I tried 8 of the beers and found some of my favorites to be the Hefe, Amber, and IPA. Tastings were 4 beers for $6 and 8 beers for $10. They also have Grenades and Growlers to go!
