This may be the farthest west wine trail, but it's worth the trip. Lots of great wines to sample! Keuka Lake Winery is one, Keuka Springs is another.

“Out of the Ordinary Winery”
Reviewed October 11, 2012

We have taken several trips to Keuka and Seneca Lake for wine tours. This time, we tried to hit some that we had never visited. We were pleasantly surprised by a little gem on the east side of Keuka Lake: McGregor's Vineyard Winery. Unlike the other wineries, there was no tasting fee. Beautiful rustic wood tables awaited us in a room that had romantic strands of lights interwoven above us. When we sat down, a friendly waitress brought us a wine list, offering us to sample 5 different wines, at no charge. A small complimentary sampling of cheese and crackers accompanied are selections. The wines were of high quality, and we purchased a number of bottles including Highlands Red and the chardonnay. We also purchased a few cheeseboards to snack on at the table.

“A wino's dream”
Reviewed October 5, 2012

The entire wine trail was wonderful! Beautiful views, tasty wine! The east side of the lake seems to have the most vineyards, or maybe it seems that way since that's where we started. Many of the wineries have coupon cards for free wine tastings.
