When I saw the pictures of the Peekskill Inn, it looked like an excellent adventure.
...And what an "adventure" it was.
While photos show a wonderful view of the Hudson River and lovely pictures of hilly areas and a sprawling green lawn. DO NOT BE FOOLED.
This place may have had a great view of the Hudson, but included in the view was a nuclear power plant.
The town of Peekskill is rather run down and when braved the steep drive around 35mph curves which went up thousands of feet above the Hudson we were very dissapointed. We did not feel safe staying here.
The hotel's staff was nice enough, but the hotel room they have us was a small cramped space, with a bathroom the size of a closet. The place was very old and reminicent of an old 1940's motel. The room and the bathroom were in disrepair. The carpets were stained and dirty. We were on the first floor and the plastic backed and extemely old curtain would not close. They don't tell you that on the website!
We ended up asking for our money back and driving to Connecticut to find lodging.
