New location is great, beer is great, but food is very over priced. Might go back for some brews but I definitely won't eat there again.

The Peekskill Brewery has moved to a new bigger space on North Water St in Peekskill. They have big plans for catering of all sorts. But aside from that…the beer menu is awesome and the staff is friendly and helpful. If you're looking for a loud upbeat night out full of tasty brews - get to The Peekskill Brewery.

Great space, bar, burgers and beer. Nice crowd on a busy saturday night. Excellent for lunch too. Other NON-Burger items are so so and average. But the burgers are the best.

Okay...so I'm a local and I love beer and love locally-sourced Hudson Valley foods... the brewery obviously has both...but not loving it yet. Their new location offers potential for the Peekskill Brewery to be literally a regional not just a local destination. It has terrific, well-styled new digs close to the Hudson water front in a semi industrial looking building with views of the river and views into the tank rooms; high celings, concrete floors and just really great all around. My big "beef" with them at their old location carries over, the menu is very cool, but too limited. It can still be a small menu, but needs to include a few more mundane items and non-meat dishes. And for all their wonderful beer... they don't offer one light beer either on tap nor in a bottle. Not that I would order those, but I have would-be huge brewery fans that avoid because their mates or life mates, as it were, aren't as beer and food savey as they. Peekskill Brewery please you need to thow out a few bones to the masses. Once upon a time you had Sam Adams light...that would suffice, or something of the like, and a few more non-meat dishes. Our first outing to the new location also had a incompendent host, slow as ____ bartender, but it had just opened and the waitress was good, food was hot and beer was cold and tasty...so we had much forgiveness. Will check back in on this topic

Met a few friends for happy hour on a busy Fri night, and we were really looking forward to trying the interesting-sounding beers that are brewed on site at Peekskill. The layout is great....a historic, 4-story building right on the waterfront of the Hudson, 2 minutes walking distance from the train station. The owners bought the whole building and are slowly converting it into a hip bar, pub, restaurant, beer garden, and music club. Floors 1 and 2 are already opened, floors 3 and 4 will open later this year. The beer garden will be on the roof, and a great view is almost certain.
The place was packed on both floors, and people seemed to be enjoying themselves. The brewery tanks surround a full-bar on the first floor, and the second floor has the restaurant and another smaller bar on the side. We luckily remembered to make a reservation for a table and were seated next to the "hole in the floor" where we could look down on the bar patrons on the first floor. The noise level from the first floor was surprisingly controlled, and we were easily able to have a conversation at dinner.
We ordered several of the house beers, and all of them were terrible! It seemed they had added too much of whatever predominant flavoring was overpowering each beer. Instead of letting interesting hops do their job, it seems they add some hideous citrus flavoring to their IPA. The cream ale tastes like Coors Light and looks like it too.....flat and anemic. We also tried a special stout that was so overpowered with coffee flavoring, it tasted like day-old grounds.
Thank goodness they give you samples and happily replace beers that have been ordered and disappoint their patrons (suspect this happens frequently). They also have a decent selection of "guest beers", so we settled in with black IPAs from Pennsylvania and Porters from Colorado.....and felt sad we couldn't "drink local".
We tried several appetizers, sliders....lemon fries, trout salad, potato crisps.....and found none of them to be anything special. Not bad food, just not anything that makes you want to come back. We decided to go elsewhere for dinner.
Being able to have some beer and munchies and then hop right on your train is definitely a draw, especially on a cold February night. BUT.....if you don't have a good product (beer and food), you have to either change or die.
Peekskill Brewery is a great concept with a fantastic location, but they need to improve their house beers and food.....or else the place won't survive.
