We stayed at the inn in November on our first trip to North Fork. Darolyn is really friendly and will give you lots of advice on where to eat and where to go for wine tastings. Christopher makes amazing breakfasts. It's not surprising that they have repeat guests. The rooms are very tastefully decorated and clean. If you go to the region definitely check out Love Lane Kitchen, The Frisky Oyster, and Borghese winery.

These owners know quality. I have stayed at a couple of other nice places in the area which were 'fine'. Now we know, we are never going to stay anywhere else. We needed a quiet getaway to relax for a short three night escape. When we walked into the Inn, the holiday decorations were quite beautiful. Then we noticed the fireplaces, the fresh flowers, the china each morning (several patterns with new linens and more to match each morning). As someone involved in the business of noticing the details, all I can say is thank you. We didn't spend a lot of time with our hosts, because they knew we needed a complete relaxing weekend to get to know each other again. They provided our relaxation and private time like no other. Breakfasts are amazing (the sheets are really, really special). And again, all the details...thank you so much The Harvest Inn.

My wife found the Harvest Inn four years ago and we keep returning once if not twice a year. The Inn itself is amazing, it's newly built (less then 10 years old), large suites with immaculate bathrooms. Beautiful living room with fireplace for when it's too cold to sit out on the porch and drink your wine. A perfectly sized dinning room to eat the most unbelievable breakfast you will ever have. The proprietors Darolyn and Christopher are amazing as well. Darolyn takes care of your every need from when you book your reservation until you're standing on the porch not wanting to go home! Both Darolyn and Chris will recommend vineyards to hit during the day and restaurants to cap off your night. Also note that they both are very active in bringing awareness to the North Fork wine and restaurant community with "Wine Camp". Every proprietor from Jamesport to Orient Point will happy to hear that you're staying at the Harvest.

Our typical weekend and it hasn't failed yet:
Half day of work friday, leave Nassau County by 1pm, get to Love Lane Cheese shop by 3pm. Stop at a vineyard for a tasting and pickup a couple of good bottles. At the Inn by 4-5pm unpack and head to the porch for some cheese wine and relaxation. Dinner at 7:30 which Darolyn has pre-made reservations for. Check with her when you book how long in advance you should make reservations. Depending on the time of year and day of week some places will need advanced notice.
Saturday, wake up to a full breakfast that you will never forget, all made from scratch with only local ingredients. Where is the cook book Chris???!! After breakfast it's off to the vineyards for tasting and buying. Don't try to squeeze too many vineyards into one day, hang out relax with a bottle and some cheese. Most vineyards during the in seasons have live music. And it's always nice to chat with the pourers and learn about the area. Also on Saturday at 5:30 Chris does his own wine tasting where he features a local vineyard, no talking please :) Saturday night dinner at another recommended restaurant.
Sunday, another unforgettable breakfast, say your good byes and then to Greenport for some shopping.

All in all we love Darolyn and Chris, we love the area, and I can say with confidence you will too.

The Harvest Inn Bed & Breakfast was a better discovery than my husband and I ever could have imagined. The house itself is beautiful, warm and inviting with charming guest rooms (we have stayed in two different rooms) and a cozy common area. That is just the beginning of this inn's perfection though. Darolyn and Christopher, the owners, are as warm and inviting as the house itself. They are gracious hosts who make you feel at home throughout your whole stay, going above and beyond to make your stay special, whether by making reservations for you at the best restaurants in the area, or refering you to the many wineries with whom they hold close relationships, or passing along their wealth of knowledge on wine. They are well known in the area and just mentioning their referral is bound to get you VIP service. Add to all of that Christopher's spectacular two course breakfast and the private, and intimate wine tasting they do for their guests on Saturday nights, you may never want to leave. We have made the journey to Harvest Inn B&B a yearly tradition and can't imagine a better place to get away, with friendlier hosts or more beautiful accommodations.

We went in 2008 on a recommendation, then couldn't wait to go back the next year.
First you notice what a beautiful place it is. Then you get talking with Darolyn and Chris and they know all the best restaurants and the best wineries. They even know the best wines at the wineries - down to the year to ask for!
At breakfast you get completely hooked on the place. They use local, farm-fresh ingredients in a fantastic feast. If you like good food, good wine and good people, this is the place to stay.

Prior to our first stay at the Harvest Inn, my wife and I were not fans of B&Bs. But the graciousness of the proprietors, Darolyn and Chris, and their charming house changed our minds. The rooms are quaint, spotlessly clean and comfortable, all with private baths. Chris, a trained chef, prepared gourmet breakfasts each morning, and he discreetly accomodated my gluten free diet. Our hosts are experts on the local vineyards and restaurants, which are all within a short drive - or short walk - from the Harvest Inn.

We loved it so much the first time that we brought along my brother and his wife for our second visit, and we are already planning a third.

Don't say you don't like staying at a bed & breakfast until you've spent a few nights at the Harvest Inn.

The Harvest Inn is a place we will visit again and again! The innkeepers went out of their way to go above and beyond to make such a memorable experience for us. We got engaged on the vineyards, and the Harvest Inn helped my fiancee with all of the arrangements, from recommended restaurants, to champagne and flowers in our room when we returned. It truly felt like home. The house is gorgeous, pristine, and extremely warm and welcoming. And the breakfasts are AMAZING!!! They accommodated all of my fiancee's allergies and made the most delicious breakfasts I have EVER had! We are definitely planning on returning to the Harvest to make some more memories :-)
