“Nature at its finest”

My husband and I LOVED this cabin! We plan to visit every summer. It was very clean, extremely spacious and the view was breath-taking. The area was great and not far from most things. There are trails and fishing locations very close by also, not to mention the fishing and canoeing on the pond behind the cabin. All around 10/10 experience!

“Nature Lover's Paradise was as advertised.”

We loved it there. The camp itself is very nice, clean and attractive inside. We did canoeing and hiking. We had an Eagle visit us a couple of times, sitting in a tree directly across the pond from us. We saw beavers swimming. We canoed out into the flow and even made a special trip in extremely shallow water(4 wheel canoeing) to see an Eagle's nest with two immature Eagles hanging around the whole time. That was special.
We swam at Meacham Lake - they let us in each day for free to just swim.
Campfires were nice - plenty of firewood provided. Being September, there was no issue with bugs which was a plus.
All in all, we enjoyed our stay very much!!!!

Liked best: The wildlife and fresh air
Liked least: Probably the fact that we couldn't swim right at the camp and the closeness of neighbors.

We really enjoyed our time at the camp. The view is beautiful, the cabin is comfortable and cozy. We enjoyed the CDs, many of which are in our own personal collection, as well as the DVDs, same. I loved canoeing, caught some fish, and saw wonderful lilies, eagles, and beaver.

The kitchen was very well equipped, much better than any other rental we have been to. We love cooking, so that was a real plus. We loved the chairs outside, and spent many hours reading outside. The library included great books and magazines, as well as very useful collection of maps and hike directions. We climbed Azure Mountain and saw a most amazing view.

The only down side was that the place could have been cleaner when we arrived.

“Great location to stage all our Adirondacks adventures, and then return for a quiet relaxing evening.”
Reviewed June 5, 2013 for a stay in May 2013

My wife and I stayed here in early May. We came to the Adirondacks to paddle and hike.
On the warmer days we would take the canoe out to explore on Horseshoe Pond, and Deer River. Although we didn't explore all that we could, we did find the huge eagle nest on Deer river, and otters between Horseshoe Pond and Deer River Flow. We appreciated all the maps and guide books that are at the cabin.
On the cooler days we we did dayhikes on St. Regis Mtn.,which had excellent views of many ponds with the High peaks in the distance. We also hiked up Ampersand Mtn. and had a picnic lunch while gazing out at another spectacular view of the Saranac Lakes.
We could pick up supplies in Saranac Lake or nearby Malone and come back to the cabin, fix a dinner in the well-appointed kitchen, and then enjoy the view from the adirondack chairs in front of an evening fire. Relaxing with the sun settling down over the pond, and the fire crackling away was a simple but fine way to end the day. We plan to stay again next year.

Pete
