“Relaxing weekend getaway!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2014

My husband and I spent two nights at the Driftwood Inn. We loved it! Very comfortable, relaxing and lovely. Understated but homey and cozy in every respect. Beautiful views of the lake. We stayed in room 202 and it was wonderful to wake up and see the lake first thing every morning. Jim and Tammy are great hosts and the breakfasts were outstanding! We will definitely recommend this place to others and hope to be able to visit again next year!

The Driftwood Inn was perfectly situated near the lake with a wrap-around porch with comfy seating for relaxing and a sturdy dock for enjoying the lake breezes (see photo). Bedrooms were clean and clutter-free. Breakfast was great! The Driftwood Inn is minutes away from great wine-tasting (our reason for the visit). The owners were friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable about the area, and professionally efficient.

Room Tip: Some rooms face the lake; that would be nice for the view. We didn't have one of those rooms, so...

We stayed at this B&B for several days and it was excellent! Tammy and Jim are .great hosts and cater to your every need. The room was spacious, nicely decorated and the breakfasts were marvelous. The inn has a large porch facing the lake and many chairs and tables to enjoy the view. Tammy makes wonderful cookies for afternoon snacking, and they both have incredible knowledge of the area. The location is very convenient for sightseeing, winery visits and other tourist activities. We will definitely go back when we do more Finger Lakes touring!

I found this B & B when checking TripAdvisor for a place in the Finger Lakes. I read all of the reviews and decided that this was the place to go. We went with another couple and all four of us couldn't have been more pleased with our choice. It's right on the water and has a huge porch along the back of the house. We sat out there every morning with our coffee and every evening with our wine. What a peaceful place to contemplate the beauty of Cayuga Lake. Our room was very clean and comfortable, the breakfasts were varied and delicious. Our hosts, Tammy and Jim, couldn't have been more gracious. They were friendly and fun to be around. We even had freshly baked cookies waiting when we arrived back at the inn, after a day of sightseeing. The location is perfect for visiting wineries, historic homes and outdoor attractions. You just can't go wrong staying at this B & B. We are definitely doing back!

Room Tip: We loved having a room that overlooked the lake, but all of the rooms are lovely.

We felt just like we were at home at this lovely B & B...to walk out on the dock with a glass of wine was just priceless...only topped by walking out on the dock with a cup of coffee in the morning waiting for the scrumptious breakfast Jim and Tammy prepared for us...lovely way to end a wonderful wine tasting weekend....

This is a great B&B! It's well located, the owners are very friendly, and the place is well maintained. The view of the lake is gorgeous and if you do the wine tour by boat they can pick you up right there. I plan on going back one day.

Having never stayed at a Bed & Breakfast, my wife and I were unsure of what to expect. Let me tell you that my expectations were not only met but also far exceeded. The location alone was among one of the best that I have stayed at as far as lakefront. This Inn sits right on the lake almost 20 feet back so everywhere you look you are right on the lake. The owners of the Inn, Jim and Tammy, were amazing, very friendly and down to earth. Made you feel as if you were staying at an Aunt & Uncle's house for a weekend getaway. I think we might have been spoiled with the food because it was delicious. Day one we were treated with a Belgian waffle with Cinnamon Apples and fresh melons on the side. Day two was Scrambled Egg Soufflé again with the melons. Day three we had French toast with Berry/Banana Compote. All of the breakfast we had was amazing and delicious. We stayed in room 6, which was converted from the old help's room into a normal room. On the site they talk about having to make your way up two flights of stairs however we never had a problem carrying anything up. The room overlooked Cayuga Lake and had great views! Also with the windows open at night, the waves that hit the shore were a nice sound. Their location is directly in the middle on the west side of Cayuga Lake with many wineries within 10 minutes either north or south. There aren’t many places to eat locally at night, O’Malley’s is close but we did not go. We did order in Mark’s Pizza and get it delivered and for upstate NY it was okay pizza. They are also extremely close to Taughannock Falls State Park, which has a beautiful waterfall that you can drive right to an overlook. They are also within 40 minutes to Watkins Glen State Park, which also has many waterfalls (do the gorge trail- 3 miles in and out and you get to see 19 waterfalls.) Quick tip, if you are planning on doing any of the parks, if you do them on the same day you will only have to pay one parking fee as long as you keep your receipt. In closing, having never stayed at a B&B will I again, I am sure, and the next time I am in the Finger Lakes, I will definitely stay at the Driftwood Inn.

Room Tip: Room 6 is where we stayed and had amazing views of the lake. You do have to go up two flights of st...
