We stayed in a nearby village for a few days and our host kindly took us to see this wild park.

We spent a few hours at the park and bought some food to feed to the animals.

my little girl loved seeing the "bambis" as well as mummy duck and all his little chicks.

we saw a live display of different hunting birds (in german) and my little girl bounced on the trampoline.

the funniest thing of the day was a little german boy asking if the (frozen) fish that had just been thrown in to feed the otters would start to swim again.

there is a lovely little outdoor cafe for the adults (also selling beer) to relax at when you get to the end of your trip.

This is a lovely park with deer, wild pigs and similar wild animals. There is an area for children to stroke goats and their apparently always present young, there are rabbits and guinea pigs and a great falconry display.

For children there are also trampolines, a playground and sometimes pony riding. In fact there is something for everyone including a refreshments stand and several "round" walks of varying lengths but all suitable for push chairs.

All in all, I've spent many hours there with my children as well as with our visitors and would recommend it to anyone.

The entrance fee is a but expensive. We paid 16 euro for 1 adult and two children under 5. The price is worth it! Give yourself a few hours at this park. You can see the Schloss from the park. There is a bird of pray show with stadium seating to view it. When they aren't doing the show you can still view the birds up close. There is a play ground, restaurant, gift shop, and plenty of tables and chairs to relax.

The entrance fee may seem a tad high, until you get inside. They have a very large collection of raptors, a breeding program, a bird training program and a show that brings it all together. In other shows, the birds do not fly as close to the audience, and are often out of sight. The audio system is better than at any of the other shows I have seen. The staff is available afterwards and takes the time to answer questions. Children are treated with courtesy and respect and not talked down to. We will have several guests visiting us next year. Although Tambach is not the closest park, it is the one to which we will take each guest. Bravo!
