Excellent restoration of home/boarding house with the Long Island Sound as its Neighbor. Knowledgeable tour guides to answer your questions & point out interesting not to miss items & history. Small but nicely curated gift shop. Easy curbside free parking. Sit & rock on shaded front porch & watch world go by.

The Historical society provides some really interesting locations - a walking tour of Old Orient is definitely worth the time.

The society’s campus is a treasure trove of artifacts, including documents, paintings, photos and all manner of household and commercial goods housed in a number of historic buildings in a beautiful setting. The periodic exhibits are worth a visit.

I recently attended the Orient Christmas House tour and one of the stops on the tour was the Oysterponds Historical Society buildings. The tour of the Village Lane house hosted by John was amazing. The narration and information he provided of local history was so interesting. The shop next door was a treasure full of local crafts. This is a must see when traveling through the North Fork of Long Island!

Every year we attend the Holiday House Tour organized by the Oysterponds Historical Society. The group that attends with us each year continues to grow. Its a wonderful way to experience historical properties from the 1700s and 1800s, as well as some newer homes. The guides are quite knowledgeable and entertaining. Its become a great yearly tradition for us.
