“No Elevator”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2009

We stayed here for 2 nights. I had made previous reservations & the check-in went quickly & efficiently. We were given a room on the 2nd floor. Even though the sign out front said "Newly Renovated" there was no elevator to the 2nd floor. We had to carry our things up a flight of steps. Our room was clean & had 2 double beds, a lerge dorm size frig & microwave. There was a coffee pot & tray set up on top of the frig, but the coffee pot was not plugged in & there was no place to plug it in. Had to move everything over to the desk. There is a restaurant in the hotel (we never ate there) & we didn't see any complimentary breakfast that is usually offered in hotels. There was suppose to be coffee in the lobby, but didn't see that either. The cleaning staff didn't speak English, so they were not able to answer any questions.

I booked for one night on Hotwire for 2 adults and 2 children and got a very good rate. As I often do, I called the day before arriving to confirm a non-smoking room with 2 double beds. We arrived quite late and there were problems at check-in because they had obviously oversold and were already full (3 weddings that day!!). Finally the manager offered us a junior suite with king bed and pull-out couch - my 11yo & 13yo kids hate pull-out couches, so it wasn't really satisfactory. The wireless internet did not work with my computer anywhere in the hotel, for some reason that nobody was able to figure out. One of the computers in the business center had locked up and no-one on duty knew the username and password. Finally I waited over an hour for bedding for the pull-out couch and had to call a second time to get it. All in all the hotel was nicely decorated and was very clean and comfortable - however the quality of service fell well short of expectations.

We come to this area often for family functions and this is the most convienient location to stay but we have to admit it isnt the best hotel. The rooms werent cleaned well and twice staff members entered our room without knocking. They even ignored the do not enter sign. The room service was very very expensive (18 dollars for a salad with chicken). Its just been renovated which is nice but the real problem with this hotel is the staff. Some didnt speak english well (esp. cleaning crew) and they did shoddy work. I always have to reclean what the did and make sure my door is constantly locked because the staff doesnt know how to knock. If these problems are rectified this would be a great hotel in a great safe area.

I stayed here on a business trip, and was concerned given some of the negative reviews. However, things must have changed after the renovation. First of all, there is wireless and it is free. It works everywhere. Second, I typically stay in higher end hotels than this, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The rooms were of standard size, the beds very comfortable. The bathroom was fine-- and I had no problems with the shower. Good water pressure. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The breakfast was a little greasy, but a very reasonable price (< $12 for the full American breakfast). There is also a complimentary breakfast alternative which I opted for on my second morning. Cereal, bagels-- very good. Overall I liked this place and would definitely come back here again.

First of all, I am a platinum member. I was not recognized as such on arrival. Which really is not a big deal, but I usually get coupons and a gift bag which are nice. This place did not have Coffee at all like it states in the add. It is a coffee machine with nothing but hot chocolate. Again no big deal. Here's the worst part. THE SHOWER. No water pressure at all. The water goes from hot to cold and so forth. If you have been on a cruise before, you got a better shower, Pathetic. Had to rinse off in the sink.

I am a Priority Club member and frequent Holiday Inn's. The rooms in the Registery wing have recently been renuvated and are not bad, however as a business traveler I need Internet access and that was not to be found. I travel a lot and NEVER have problem accessing wireless Internet with my laptop. Anyway, I need to work in my room. If you don't mind having no Internet, this place would be OK, otherwise STAY AWAY.
