I love the rustic atmosphere..........its just perfect. However, now the food...................mostly I was disappointed in the sweet potatoes which were BURNT. They really should have thrown them out and made us a fresh batch. My friend and I ordered two sandwiches and shared them. The special was beef tips and this sandwich was very good. The other sandwich was brisket. The bbq sauce was a bit hot for my friend, but I liked it. However, it is next to impossible to eat a sandwich like a sandwich (picking it up in your hand and taking it to your mouth for a bite) when the chunks of meat are large. The chunks were too big and not all that tender. I really wanted to see what other peoples sweet potato fries looked like, but didn't think it appropriate to get up and walk around and look at other peoples meals! Service was a tad bit slow, even though there were only a few tables full. I will probably try it again, and hope for more satisfaction next time.

Great taste good value. They need to work on noise control. Rowdy birthday goup was disconcerting. Not partitioned off well.Friendly staff, tasty food.

We had high hopes for Sloan's NY Grill, but as soon as we walked in we were disappointed. The space is way too open and resembles a cafeteria in both size and noise level. We were seated right away but it took 15 minutes for our waitress to get our drinks. It was a Monday night and not busy. When we finally got to order it took another 15 minutes to get our appetizer ("Pigs Tails"). The appetizer was really bland. There wasn't any seasoning on the fries and the cheese was shredded cheese melted on top with a few bits of bacon. Bland and not worth $6. Then it took another 20 minutes to get our entrées. We had the pulled pork sandwich with onion rings and the sampler platter (Brisket, BBQ Chicken, and Ribs). The pulled pork sandwich had very little sauce on it, but dripping with grease. The onion rings were okay. The best part of the sampler platter were the salt potatoes. That's sad. The brisket was too salty and super dry. The chicken wasn't anything remarkable, and the ribs were tough. Oh--the salad that came with the entrée was swimming in dressing, which made it impossible to eat.

The dessert was awful, too. We ordered the chocolate cream pie. What arrived was a pre-made (purchased) pie crust cut in half with what tasted like a scoop of chocolate pudding out if a #10 can topped with Cool-Whip, chocolate chips (huh?), and a cherry. The menu states all desserts are made in house. They need to change that to either "assembled in house" or "thrown together from stuff we bought from Sysco", because that "pie" was not home made.

Our bill -with tip- came to $55 and change. This meal was totally not worth that price. The set up of the restaurant is not good if you'd like any sort of privacy during your dinner. Don't take your date/wife/girlfriend there for a special occasion, either. Everything about our experience did not live up to expectations and we don't plan on returning.

Hard to believe this is the old Ponderosa. Met friends for dinner on a Wednesday evening. Very busy and a bit noisy (I hear they have since installed noise deadening panels as a result of customer comments). The food was excellent. Local, fresh products.
