“Now that's BBQ!!!”

Wow, what a surprise and joy - their BBQ is excellent. Well worth the travel down Route 7 to find them - between Oneonta and Colliersville! Definitely want to try their Smoked Prime Rib!!

“Pretty darn good esp. since it is so close to BROOKS House of BBQ”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2012

I stopped and had lunch here because it was convenient, and I was surprised at how good it is. However, I like Brooks House of BBQ (which is just down the road) a bit better.

“Can still taste the BBQ sauce!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2012

We are often in the area near Oneonta visiting family and while we have found edible food in local restaurants, there have not been any meals that I considered worth a return trip since The Mint closed in Mount Upton. We read reviews on several sites that touted the food of this small BBQ restaurant and we decided to give it a try. It should be noted that we used to frequent Brooks, the perennial favorite of tourists in the area, and stopped going because two of us came home feeling ill every time we ate there. Not judging - it just was not working for us any longer.

Pros: The food, the owners and everyone who works there! We called in error on Sunday, not realizing they were closed. The owner answered the phone anyway and we had a great conversation about the freshness of the food preparation and the lack of chemicals (including liquid smoke). We picked up dinner for everyone tonight (Wednesday), drove home and proceeded to pig out (pardon the pun) on this great BBQ meal. The ribs are fabulous - meaty, tender, spiced with a dry rub with a little kick, and the hands down favorite BBQ sauce is Andre's (the other choice is a vinegar sauce). I love that the ribs come with separate sauce so that the food is not drowning in liquid - especially since we had to travel to bring the food home. Our dinners came with 2 sides; the sweet potato with brown sugar and butter, the string beans with bacon, and the pinto baked beans were the hands down favorites. Kudos to Andre's for NOT serving french fries!

Cons. The chicken was okay, but not spectacular compared to the five star ribs. The restaurant is small, no a/c but fans were cooling the room.

We all decided we want to try the brisket. We'll order that next time along with the ribs. This is a fabulous find for anyone in the area - try this restaurant if you love BBQ. Directions: We will admit to occasionally being geographically challenged, but another reviewer said the restaurant was just past Price Choppers. Not so much. Keep going on HWY 7 towards Cooperstown. It is across directly the street from an Amish gift shop and wood barn. Enjoy!

“Great food, wonderful people but BYOB”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2012

Not the easiest to find but worth the search. Chicken, ribs, brisket and pulled pork all smoked on site. Owners Pat and Teresa are very friendly and love to talk 'barbecue'. Only 4 tables and no credit or debit and bring your own beer. Call ahead for location and hours. ENJOY

“Best in the North East”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2012

Andre's is like no other. While Brooks is down the road and has the greater visibility, the food pales in comparison to the quality of the food at Andre's. THIS IS SIMPLY THE BEST BBQ YOU WILL FIND IN THE NORTH EAST. Simply divine, you will leave as stuffed and as happy as a human being can be. Double up your rib portion if you feel like a challenge :)
