This tiny little restaurant offers the kind of food you would expect in a NYC restaurant, but with humble and comfortable charm. I highly recommend having dinner here if you visit the area. It's great for a large group or for couples, and definitely save room for dessert. Very creative and delicious! Love, love, love this place.

Interesting and flavorful menu features dishes with a South American flair, made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Pork entree, which was a special that evening, was exceptionally good. Excellent service -- wait staff was attentive, professional, and courteous. Cozy and comfortable main dining room, although the decor was relatively basic and somewhat uninspired (the glassed-in "garden" room at the back is a more special and visually interesting space). A bit pricey, although the quality of the food and service probably warrant the cost. This restaurant is open only during the summer months.

The Owl at Twilight is gem in the mountains of New York. Worth looking for in its home just off the road in tiny Olmstedville, the staff at The Owl delivers service, food and ambience unsurpassed by any restaurant in any major American city I have visited. We were seated on the screen-in porch quite late on Sunday of Labor Day weekend, and immediately given lap blankets to make sure we would not be chilly, and pillows to cushion our backs. Bread with several spreads followed, then very flavorful and innovative appetizers and mains. Dessert was, again, innovative and outstanding. Chili ice cream and chocolate Kahlua chili cake? It was amazing - as was the hot chocolate ordered by another diner, the ginger donuts, and everything else. To add to the wonderful experience, the wine list was had both classic and more unusual wines, and we were treated to a very knowledgeable explanation of some of them before ordering our excellent red. Also, the service was polished and low-key, a rarity in the North Country. All in all if you are looking for that one fine dining experience of your vacation in the Adirondacks, you could not go wrong with The Owl at Twilight.

The Owl at twilight is a perfect summer spot at any time of the evening. We have enjoyed it multiple times this summer, and brought new fans each Saturday night. No disappointments, just rave reviews, happy friends and remember to save some room for the special desserts. Try the Chile ice cream and special donuts. Will be back again before summers end for sure.

Family of six celebration from ages 17 to 65. We sat out in back on the screened in porch. Wonderful food - the scallops and the chile rellenos are tops. Very reasonable wine list. Excellent service. So glad to have them back.
