Stayed on a snowmobile trip and while the trails stunk that week this place definitely did not! Very well maintained, the owner Robin was friendly and helpful and her husband was very busy keeping the place up. The room was very clean with an awesome view of the lake. The only issue I had was the bed was a bit lumpy and they could use a few extra blankets to supplement the thin ones on the bed. We'd go back again for sure. The well equipped kitchen came in handy. Be aware that the small parking lot can't accommodate sled trailers but the owners have an arrangement for you to leave them a few hundred yards away. Not a huge inconvenience.

Excellent choice in Old Forge, this simple yet clean and functional motel is situated walking distance from the main Old Forge business district yet just far enough away to avoid traffic and noise. The hosts are the nicest folks you could meet. The rooms are of older construction, but spacious, well maintained, well equipped and super clean. Ours overlooked the lake and at a rate that was much lower than others in the area. Also had rooms available when other choices were booked. Nearby trailer storage and good snowmobile parking and direct access to the trail network. Take your sled to the restaurants and leave your car or truck at the motel! Really good free WiFi access to! We will be back to Old Forge often and will stay here every time!

I stayed here last year and after receiving the great hospitality that jim and robin offered us i decided to return again this year. My. son and I enjoyed how close we were to the snowmobile trails. The room was very clean, just as it was on our last stay.the weather didn't cooperate with us for snowmobiling so we had to cut our stay short by a day. Robin and Jim were great in refunding us a day on our trip. I stayed in other places that would not refund anything if you left early. this was greatly appriciated. I will be returning again in late Feb. with my other son and look forward to staying with them again. If you are traveling to Old Forge try staying here, you wont be disappointed.

My wife and I had a great stay at Pine Knoll on New Year's Day. Robin, our gracious host, was more than helpful when we arrived.

We stayed in the Brenin Lakeside Cabin, which overlooked the lake. We were greeted by a beautiful mid-winter sunset that we enjoyed from our cozy but spacious cabin. The Brenin was recently renovated, and Robin and Jim did a great job covering floor to ceiling in wonderful pine. The room was super clean and had big, fluffy towels for us in the bathroom.

It was below freezing during our stay, so we weren't able to take advantage of our balcony, but I could see how it would be a great spot to enjoy the lake spring through fall. We took advantage of the fireplace and great heat, which we controlled.

I would recommend Pine Knoll wholeheartedly. In fact, we have plans to go back soon.

Pine Lodge was clean and comfortable, overlooked a small lake that gifted us with a colorful dawn and mist above the waters. Room has many comforts. Billy's Italian Restaurant recommended by Robin, the owner, was fantastic...where e locals eat. Owner comes around to all, totally delightful!
A visit to "The view" local art museum was a treat since a fine quality quilt museum was going on. Beautiful museum!

Room Tip: Ask for one facing the lake, upper level.

We were fortunate enough to find the Pine Knoll Lodge and enjoyed our first stay in August (2012). Having enjoyed the ammenities the Pine Knoll offered and the view overlooking the lake we decided to return this October and take in the fall foliage. We enjoyed first rate accomodations and service without stretching our pocketbook. Owners Robin and Jim were very helpful and add to the charm of Pine Knoll. Looking forward to returning next year!!!
