Nancy (the owner) made us feel very comfortable for our 2 night stay. The room was fresh and well appointed and offered a relaxing stay. My wife and I took the Adirondack scenic Railroad from Utica on a Thursday morning, stayed 2 nights, and returned to Utica on a Saturday evening. 19th Green is within walking distance of the Thendara rail station. Walk we did and enjoyed it very much. Nancy recommended dinner at Van Auken's Inn which included live music and a fabulous dinner on the front porch at Van Auken's. When we checked out on Saturday, Nancy even gave us a ride back down to the station in her crew cab truck. Nice place, I would do it again in a heartbeat.

The room was spic and span. You just dobn't find rooms this clean at this price. Beds were very comfortable. The owner Nancy was so friendly and pleasant. The whole experience was outststanding. Highly recommend and will definitely stay there again.

I think some improvements could be made. Yes, the rooms and clean and spacious. But a motel rating is not just about cleanliness.

For a motel which boasts 5 ratings, it was most inconvenient that motel office is not a accessible a lot of the time; and it opens at inconsistent times. It MAY open at 8 a.m. or it MAY open at 9 a.m. Once the sign said they would return at 5pm, but the office was not opened until 6:30 p.m. This would not have been a problem if there were accessibility to ice somewhere on the premises.

It is quite inconvenient for the motel to only offer ice IF you ask and the motel office must be open. We are outdoor people who bike or hike for many hours, and our only request is to be able to obtain ice for water bottles, or ice in the evening for cocktails. We were not asking to fill any coolers, which would be inappropriate.

We would have gladly bought a bag of ice, but the refrigerator in this motel was the smallest frig I have ever seen, anywhere. So it was not possible to store ice. Even the lowest rated of motels we have stayed in, always offer ice on the premises or accessible in an open, unmanned office. Since the ONLY way to obtain ice is to ask the owners, it was terribly inconvenient to have to wait around.

The owner is adamant about their no pets policy, which I like. However, it is poor judgment to allow their own dog to roam the premises AND to bother people. We had some snacks in the evening and the dog bothered us the entire time we were outdoors at the picnic table. The dog even came into our room.

Little alarm clocks costs less than $5, yet this presumably 5 star motel had none.

The sink is so small that water is everywhere -- on the sink, on the floor.

I can understand their not heating the pool as it is costsly and it has been a cool summer and few people were using the pool.

Yes, the owner is friendly, to a fault. Ratings should not be based on how long a conversation the owner likes to engage in. It is a lot of little things that add up to a pleasant stay.

A week prior to the 4th of July weekend, my wife and I decided to visit the Adirondacks for our very first time. A friend suggested Old Forge as a nice small town to stay. I began searching on the web for a nice, but reasonably priced place to stay. A couple of reviews led me to book the 19th Green Motel and I ame so glad we did. Upon arrival, which was a couple hours early, our room was ready, Our cozy room included a small refrigerator and microwave. Also included were air conditioning, wireless internet, and a TV with approximately 75 channels. The room had been cleaned to perfection and sparkled. The owners are wonderful people. When asked, they offered great advice for things to see and do during our visit to the area. We stayed three nights and were extremely satisfied. If you are looking for a nice place to stay that is clean, reasonably priced, with nice amenities, comfortable beds, and friendly owners, then look no further than the 19th Green Motel.

Pat and Nancy were extremely friendly and very helpful, let us know about things to do and places to eat. After talking to them for a short time we felt like we had known them for years. The room was super clean and looked like we must be the first ones staying here. Cleanest room we have ever stayed in a motel. We will be sure to recommend this motel to family and friends.

For those who have never been here before, all I have to say is this place is spectacular. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Our room could not of been any better. Very Very maticulously clean. My family and I have stayed several places in the Old Forge area and I have to say the 19th Green is by far the BEST place to stay. The room was very large, and the bathroom was very big. You won't be disappointed if you choose to stay here.

Always stay at the 19th Green when snowmobiling at Old Forge. Excellent access to the trail system, gas, and restaurants. Good parking for our snowmobiles, trailer, and truck. Never had a problem with theft. Clean, spacious rooms. Pat and Nancy are like family. We first stayed here about 10 years ago. We did a little cross-country skiing and rented a snowmobile for a couple of days. We got hooked and bought our own equipment and have returned every year thereafter.
