Description: We are a fine dining bistro in an old Victorian building on the Main Street in Old Forge, NY. Our menu changes regularly depending on what is in season and fresh and can be locally sourced. We strive to use as much local and organic food as we can find. Our food is creative and fun and made to order. Dress is casual so come as you are. Bring a sweater as half of our dining is outside on the back deck or the wrap around porch. We usually have live music on Friday and Saturday night. Give us a call to find out who is playing. Reservations welcome. We are open from Memorial Day to Columbus Day Wednesday-Sunday for dinner from 5 to 10 and for a Mid-Day meal on Saturdays and Sundays from 11-3 From Memorial Day until June 26th, 2015 Then we are open seven days a week for brunch, lunch and dinner and drinks from June 26 until Labor Day. Check back for Fall days and hours of operation Come join us for something to eat or a drink at the bar. Eat well ... Be Well

Looking for fresh good food? Go to Sisters on Main St. The food is very well prepared and tastes wonderful.
BUT the service is very, very slow and everything is ala carte. Good wine selection just prepare yourself to wait.

Old Victorian home of the late Dr. Steward Nelson has been given another life in Old Forge. To say the meals were fresh just doesn't do it justice...fresh with class, presentation, atmosphere, quaintness, friendly staff and owners...not to mention the beautiful garden in the back and many, many pots of herbs growing on the outside. Can't say enough good things about Sisters,. try it you'll like it. Ask the sisters if Dr. Nelson as been around lately, he has been known to play the piano from time to time.

The real star at Sisters Bistro is the chef, who prepared meals so delightful and fresh we were quite taken aback, having never had a lunch of quite this caliber in Old Forge, where things are generally on the downscale side. On a sunny but cool August afternoon we found ourselves on the small but charming back porch of Sisters, which was a dramatic shift from the touristy scene in front. We savored delicious smoothies and ultrafresh salads. I had a tasty panini stuffed with fresh tomato, cheese and arugula, while my husband enjoyed a cream of mushroom soup that had him delirious with praise. Portion sizes were perfect. The waiter was somewhat pretentious and was weak on keeping our water glasses filled (the last refill was with warm water); otherwise the service was adequate. On viewing dinner menu we were disappointed at not being able to try that meal as well. We would definitely return given the opportunity.

What a find this place was. Whether you are sitting inside or outside, you feel comfortable and welcomed. Our waiter, Kyle, was top notch and knew everything about the food, wines and area. Both sisters came to check on us asking how we were enjoying our meal, as did the chef. His food was amazing, the only problem is that it is hard to choose which dishes to have! We tried the salmon, hanger steak, crab cakes and duck and neither of us could pick which was the best. Our only regret is that it is 7 hours from where we live. You must try this place on your next visit to this quaint town!

We moved away from Old Forge about three years ago and decided to come for a visit since it is hard to get this place out of your heart. Seriously! Well, needless to say Sister's is a nice change of pace to Old Forge. A little more upscale which is what was needed. The other places in town are good, but the wine list was extensive and the menu very interesting. Unfortunately we did not get a chance to partake in the menu as it was before 5. However, we did sample some of the wines that were available and the selection and prices were very good. The service was exceptional, friendly and helpful. I hope that we get a chance to try the food before we leave, if not NEXT TIME! Congratulations to the Sisters, as I wish them good luck and success!
